The Cornell Plantations is a treasure just a couple miles from downtown Ithaca. It provides a rigorous hike or a comfortable stroll along its landscaped paths and roadway. Along the hill you usually see the horses in one of Cornell's barns.

Drive or hike around this natural area of acres and areas of trees, scrubs, flowers and ponds open 365 to the public and cared for by Cornell University. Just gorgeous and peaceful.

It is great to be able to take dog on lease and we had a great walk. The visitor center was a nice rest.

This a drive through plantation with many parking areas to pull over so that you can walk and take a closer look at the specimens of trees and bushes that are on display. Many of the parking areas are also overlooks which afford beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and other parts of the plantation. Bring your camera and start snapping.
