We're long time supporters of science museums. We visit here 4 or 5 times a year to enjoy this gem and the greater Ithaca area. A wonderful day trip. A strong variety of stations, even a small salt water touch tank. Who doesn't like the musical stairs to the 2nd floor? (don't worry, there are alternative routes) The discovery space area gives you the opportunity to check out a topic based (climate, x-rays, water, optical illusions) kit in a quiet area to learn more. The Saturday afternoon programs, ~1hr, may feature a topic related to the "visiting" exhibit or to the season. Past talks we've enjoyed included local plants and climate competition. During nice weather the outdoor explore area is great. Wished be lived closer to take advantage of the science camp.

It was hit and miss. Some exhibits were great, others were in a state of dis-repair.

Had a lot of fun here. Spent about 5 hours playing with all the experiments and displays. It was nice and clean and very well-organized. I've been to a lot of science centers and there were displays here I'd not seen before. It was great that it was very clean, I had no qualms about touching anything or crawling around. I've been to centers that were so filthy you didn't want to touch anything, and this was nice.

Located just a few minutes outside the downtown core, this is a very interactive science center that's geared to kids below their teen years. Its not a large science centre and takes about half a day to go through.

Inside, there are a lot of hands on exhibits. One area is geared toward kids kindergarten aged and lower. The rest is full of quick science lessons and experiments in areas like physics, biology, puzzles, acoustics, etc. There's even an indoor bee hive that has glass walls so you can watch the bees in the hive.

Outside, there is an interactive playground with instruments, structures to climb, large bubble making tools and other things to help kids burn off some energy and have fun.

One thing to note is that there is no food service at the centre (atleast we didn't see it). You can bring your own food and there's an indoor lunch room where you can eat or you can eat outside if the weather is good.
