We've come to like the 'hibachi' experience. We found one near us that we generally like. But today we happened to be in Huntington, and wanted to eat there before heading home, and found Tomo. We saw the existing reviews here, and decided to try it.

The worst thing in the place was the awful music - and after we and other patrons complained, it was quickly turned down. The 2nd worst problem; a small error in the sushi part of my order. I get a roll instead of a hand roll. Still tasted very good - as did everything we had. Third worst; they charge extra for fried rice instead of white rice. That's not exactly unusual, really not a big deal.

Our request to keep shrimp away from my wife's food was very willingly honored. We got the usual 'hibachi chef entertainment', done with zest and in fun for all.

My wife tried Chilean Sea Bass for the first time. I actually tasted it first. I'm not much into cooked fish - but this was very, very good. I had scallops, which were also quite good, not overcooked as often happens when cooked this way. The onion mushroom soup was very nice, and the usual salad was fine.

Service was mostly accurate and polite. The prices were quite typical for this type of place in this area. Overall, we had a very nice meal and would be happy to go back, and bring others with us!

Great overall experience. Food was great and so was the atmoshere of this Huntington restaurant. Sushi was also very good. Loved the OMG roll and chicken teryaki. The peppercorn steak aslo was very good. Waitstaff was friendly. The location loud and busy as any good open hibachi place should be. Chefs presentaion was great!

My husband and I love this place! food is excellent, love the hibachi dinners especially the filet mignon which is top notch and we love Simon, the manager at Tomo. the sushi rolls and seafood are especially fresh and the food portions are generous. Take out is also an option, and just as good as dining in.

This place offers the usual fair of hibachi steak, chicken and seafood. We have been here several times meeting friends at this "half way" point for our group. It is a safe bet but nothing spectacular. The food quality is pretty good, portions are large. The spectacle aspect of this style of cooking is pretty tired at this point. Few restaurant guests pay attention an the chef's just go through the boring routine. Can they stop throwing food at you as if the patrons are trained seals? All this was interesting and novel 20 or 30 years ago. Now... well, they should just stick to the food prep. Services is OK. It can be hard to get a waiter's attention. The place can be incredibly noisy especially when they start banging on pans to celebrate birthdays. This place always seems to be full on weekend nights so be prepared to wait, even with a reservation. I would not give the place high marks for cleanliness either. Pricing is not bad. More or less what you would expect for this kind of place. All in all, we may come back here but it would be far from our first choice. There are a lot more interesting and pleasant dining experiences available in Huntington.

...average and ordinary Hibachi stye and you come out smelling like the dishes or dishes at the table the smoke blew on you from other diners. Okay in a ''pinch '' and won't hurry back anytime soon.
