This is an authentic French bistro in Huntington, right down to the Calvados. Food, wine, service, and ambiance are excellent. Everything about the location says French bistro. Enjoy! YUM!

We were touted by the owner to try a bottle of Malbec which he saud we would love.We did. We were charged $38, which was very high a few years ago. The wine was just OK, and a few weeks later I saw the same bottle in a wine store for $9.95.I thought the restaurant's markup was uncalled for, especially when touted by the owner. We haven't been back since. They take no reservations, parking is difficult, but the food is very good.

Cassis is a cute little french bistro nestled in the heart of Huntington village. Tennis moms and Francophiles alike cram in for lunch during the week and noisy late dinners all weekend. The place will never go out of business simply because they have absolutely no competition. Really? It irks me. The staff is blatantly rude, hurried and dismissive and the food is meh. But who doesn't love drinking martinis at a cozy marble top brass bar whilst picking at a wheel of cheese and oily olives?
This ain't no Balthazar, friends. They treat you like la poupe because they're confident you'll be back; where else you gonna go?
Oh Huntington, you're a hell of a town. With your dozens of thriving restaurants and gazillions of cash cow bars...yet no place fabulous to truly enjoy being a "local".

I have gone here quite a few times, and it is always very good. Parking is a problem though, and it gets packed at dinner time. Best to go for lunch. The soup of the day is always excellent and a generous portion. The other day I had corn soup, thick, rich, and hot. I enjoy getting the brie on toast appetizer, which comes with a salad with candied pecans. I have not had the burgers, but my husband commented that it tasted like the meat was ground there; very fresh. The quiche lorraine is yummy, but a small portion. It comes with a salad. I would NOT get the hanger steak sandwich. It is always very chewy...not good! I have had the grilled chicken sandwich, but sometimes the kind of roll they put it on is very hard. For dessert, the creme puffs with vanilla gelatto are delicious. They are topped with a hot, homemade chocolate sauce. The creme brulee is also very good, but is a much smaller portion. The service is always very good. It is a little higher priced than your average good restaurant in Huntington, but my boss who travels to France often says that it reminds him very much of bistros you would find there. Good choice if you go early for dinner or for lunch.

Nice restaurant in a fun town (Huntington, NY). Good menu selection & reasonably priced for the ambiance.
