The Hecksher Museum in Huntington is a small local museum, but really worth seeing if you're in the Huntington area. Although small, tey have some beautiful, wuality works of art that are worth seeing. It sits inside a lovely little park with a lake and walking path, kid's playground and baseball field. Each year, two beautiful white swans nest on a tiny island on the lake. We love to see the baby swans! In recent years, beautiful tulips have been planted all around the lake and museum - they are glorious. We are fortunate to have this gem of a museum and the park. Somewhere around 2001 the museum was in danger of closing due to lack of funds, which would have been tragic. Fortunately, funding came through and we still have this wonderful museum to call our own here on Long Island. I don't think there's a specific fee, but they do ask for donations. Spend an afternoon in the museum and the park, you'll love it.
