“Surprisingly gone downhill”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2014 via mobile

Normally love this place but today small portions, no seasoning on potatoes or steak. Maybe its just lunch. Family event so they had limited crowd to cook for. Should have been great but fell short.

“Easter buffet”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2014

We eat at 3:00.The food was good but the selctions were minimum. They offered one pasta dish, one chicken dish, one fish dish and one type of meat on the carving station. There were no vegetable selections or a side of rice. They did offer a salad. They should have more than one meat at the carving station, not everyone likes lamb. An eggplant dish would have been nice. Baked Ziti is boring. String beans or/& garlic mashed potatoes or something.

The breakfast station had white bread french toast (boring), could have made croissant french toast with fresh strawberries or even use french bread. Waffles could have been made in front of you, like your omlet station.

“My new favorite Italian restaurant in Nassau County”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

Last night was first visit to this beautiful restaurant- chosen because it was mid-way between our house and that of friends we were meeting. The online menu was daunting, as so many things looked so good- and we were not disappointed in the least. The varieties of fresh mozzarella- with all the fixins- were delicious. Pastas were great, entrees were great, desserts were great. Our server Eric was friendly and efficient. If I was looking to find a minor fault- about halfway through our dinner the live music kicked in. It was nice, but a little loud for the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. Still, will go back in a heartbeat.

“Disappointed to say the least”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014

We decided to try out Porto Vivo after we saw a Groupon. We knew ahead of time that the restaurant is a bit pricey, but typically do not mind paying extra if the food is good.
The restaurant is attractive and the wait staff very efficient. Unfortunately the food left much to be desired. Thumbs down for the truffle macaroni and cheese appetizer and the pasta in pork ragu. Both had off tastes and the pork ragu had clumps of fat (did not remotely resemble the illustration). We also had the Caesar salad and gnocchi--- nothing special. The saving grace to this whole experience was the delicious chocolate soufflé with cream sauce. Four bites and it was gone. That equates to $3.25 per bite ($13 dessert). It was difficult to park on the street because of the ice and snow. If they have a parking lot, it was not clearly labeled.
Needless to say, it was quite the disappointment; and we did mind the pricey bill because the food was not that good.
