We were looking for a restaurant in this area to meet friends. After narrowing it down to 2 or 3, we called to make reservations for a Saturday night (on Saturday afternoon). The owner of Piccola Bussola was so pleasant, so inviting, that we couldn't pass it up. He told us we'd be seated at 8:15, and we were! A great start!
Eating family style with only four people can be challenging, but we had fried zucchini and caesar salad to start (both solid, the zucchini served with a pan of delicious marinara sauce), and then had chicken parmigiana and rigatoni bolognese for the main course. The chicken was among the best I've had; fork tender and a large portion. We asked the waiter who took our order if he thought that would be the right amount of food for us and he responded that he thought it would, but if not, we would just order more if we needed to--a refreshing attitude!! We shared a tartuffo and huge piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert (the cake was just ok).
The wait staff was pleasant and attentive, refilling water glasses without having to be asked, and replacing silver ware as necessary. Not hovering, but there when you needed them. Also nice was that the noise level was not overbearing, allowing easy conversation at the table.
The meal was very reasonably priced, the food good, the staff and ambiance pleasant. What more could you ask for? We'll be back soon.
