Great mountain, good skiing, would recommend to anyone who lives to ski. Hunter mountain has terrain for everyone. Pretty sweet mountain within reach for an exciting day!

A three and a half hour drive from Philly (two and a quarter from NYC), Hunter offers 40 or so trails from beginner to advanced/expert. They make a ton of snow and have five lifts plus a magic carpet that keep the lines down. The ski school was great for the kids, less so for the adults. The base lodge is large with a lot of different food options and a small bar area. The only complaint is the ticket sales procedure. They need to be more organized and the people could definitely be more helpful.

The employees of the resort were prompt, polite and informative. The bartenders were fun to talk to. The guests on the other hand were the worst example of manners that could be found. If you're ok with the attitude of New York City and want a good ski trip with great slopes, this place is great.

Hunter is a fun mountain with tons of trails. They have a gigantic wrap around bar that has a good selection of beer. I don't ever drink and ski but a nice cold one to relax with after is my thing!!! The trails were a mix of powder and packed powder with surprisingly few ice patches considering how crazy the weather has been !! The trails are extremely well groomed and there is ski patrol everywhere . There are a lot of snowboarders as there is a snowboard park so be prepared for that . But skiing anywhere the skiers and snowboarders should just respect each other and all will be fine !! A woman named Kathy helped me select a new helmet today and she was extremely informed on the subject and very helpful and kind. In fact all the staff at Hunter is always kind and helpful !!! Certain times the mountain is quite busy so go on off times and you will be fine . Any questions you have the pro shop staff is super helpful !!! FYI , the food here is not my thing . Bring a granola bar or nuts as a go to snack as there arent a ton of healthy options and it is quite pricey!! But even so, are you here for fine dining or to ski ?

If you are older and hoping to relive your youth, this is not for you. They really need to treat tubing like skiing and have beginner hills for kids and something much bigger and faster, with jumps, for adults. They already have liability waivers in place for skiing and wakeboarding so it could cover more adventurous tubing.

If you want a taste, get to the hill early for skiing/boarding and end at 3pm so you can buy a 2 hour tubing session for $20. You really only need about 60 minutes before the novelty completely wears off.
