The crew at Hunter Mountain did a great job with mud control!!
It rained for 2 days but on Saturday the sun came out and the maintenance crew did a great job with straw and stone. Thank You!

Nobody's going to confuse Hunter Mountain with its big brothers and sisters both west and north, but for access to the metropolitan New York area, as a day trip, it's probably as close as you're going to get. If I had a weekend or few days, I'd head to Vermont, but for a one day ski trip and sleeping in my own metropolitan or suburban bed. Hunter gets it done nicely, especially for those who can get there on a mid week day.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at Hunter Mt and would recomend it any time of the year, a great place to get away from your regular day to day.

Since I don't ski I can only comment on the summer activities here. The mountain supports a variety of festivals and has shops, a restaurant, and a Zip-line and rope climbing area for the young. Checkout their website for information regarding festivals and shows. The German Fest and Country & Western events have always been good. Nice trip from NYC of NJ and the serpentine (Rt 23A) drive once you're off the NY Thruway is exhilarating and scenic.
