I have eaten here several times and the food is fresh, tasty, well prepared and leaves you feeling well nourished. However, I do rank it only 'very good' because it looks like a 'hole in the wall' and the seating is not very comfortable, especially in the heat of the summer, when the air conditioning works very hard and still does not do the job.

I like that the menu changes often and no matter what I have bought, I have been very happy. The service is good and polite, the prices reasonable for what you are getting.

Having lived in Hudson for almost 10 years we've enjoyed watching the city's cadre of restaurants grow and enjoyed dining in them even more. HFS is the latest dining venue to join the ranks of the Hudson Valley's dining capital, and brings with it a much needed ethnic cuisine.

A fusion of Vietnamese and Thai cooking, HFS's menu offers diners a range of fresh, delicious and light courses using almost exclusively local ingredients. The night we dined at HFS our two appetizers (Lettuce Cups and Crab Cakes) were both wonderful and so different from each other: the lettuce cups were light, crisp and fresh, the crab cakes were meaty, flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Our entrees consisted of Spicy Chicken with Noodles and Pork Meatballs with Rice Vermicelli. Again, both outstanding - fresh and delicious with just the right balance of flavors. Portion sizes are perfect.

The restaurant offers a limited selection of wines and beer that really match the cuisine quite well. The space itself is small, so you have to get there early. We were lucky to get the last table when we walked in, but the turnover seemed fairly brisk, so waiting time wasn't long at all.

Overall Hudson Food Studio is a welcome addition to our city and will be a regular stop on our dining rounds.
