Description: American Glory Restaurant is located in historic Hudson, NY, only two hours north of Manhattan along the scenic Hudson River. Situated in the heart of Hudson’s restaurant district on Warren Street, only a 15 minute ride from the Taconic State Parkway or NYS Thruway and within walking distance of the Amtrak station. American Glory specializes in legendary wood smoked BBQ and classic American comfort foods. Our menu includes many vegetarian and gluten free options. Housed in a masterfully renovated red brick firehouse, American Glory Restaurant boasts a rich history of dedicated firefighters. Formerly the H. Rogers Hose Company it was home to the second oldest volunteer fire department in the United States;organized in 1794. The firehouse has been meticulously restored to highlight the original red brick walls, wood floors and historic grand wooden staircase.American Glory is warm and inviting, filled with the aroma of wood smoked barbecue, hometown comfort foods, enjoyable music, good times and roaring laughter.A beautiful dark wood and mirror bar with ice chilled beer taps sits on the casual pub style first floor and expansive doors open to our sidewalk dining area. The second floor houses a spacious family dining room with seating for 100 people and doubles as an art gallery, featuring a different Columbia County artist each month. The additional private dining room with working fireplace and large screen TV seats 24 people, an ideal setting for business meetings, billiards, intimate gatherings and family Sunday dinners.

“Great barbeque and then some”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Have eaten here several times when in the area -- consistently really good food--Love the bar and music. Ate here Friday with a group of friends and veered off my usual barbeque and fish picks for the braised short ribs special-- omg-- delicious is an understatement -- wish I had put in an order to go!

“Good beer”
Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

Best happy hour in town. A fantastic bar with great local brews. Beer prices can be up a bit high after happy hour ($6-$7) but the beer is tasty. Only downfall is late at night you might find the owner pretty drunk which is a shame for such a nice staff and an elegant place.

“Meat, Meat and more meat! (with a nod to vegetarians)”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This is American food at its best. The eatery is in a converted fire station and still has the spacious brick interior to cater for the many diners, art shows and the bands that play each night.

The menu was varied and large featuring local foods as well as cuisine more familiar on the Mexican border and it appeared everything in between.

I couldn’t decide so I asked the girl who ran the place, she being typically local, a mixed strong Nordic stock with the same long straight hair as Mary from Little House on the Prairie. ‘Sure il help ya choose, what brings you to Hudson?’ We finally chose a giant Texas Beef Brisket that had been smoked for 14 hours accompanied by a locally brewed beer. Both were delicious. American Glory BBQ is a must for a hungry traveller and the staff are excellent.
