Quinta Zoe
Reviewed December 16, 2009

Centrally situated in the Centro Historico of Queretaro, Quinta Zoe is in a quiet area close to, but away from, the bustle of the main square. The rooms, are furnished in a quintessentially Mexican style, with modern facilities. While I love Mexico and the Mexicans, Quinrta Zoe provides a haven for the English speaking traveller. Dave, the owner (Zoe his wife was away during my stay) , went out of his way to welcome me and show me around the Centro Historico area. His local knowledge is invaluable.
A most pleasant stay with a very charming host in his very beautiful home. I highly recommend Quinta Zoe.

A friend and I stayed in Queretaro for a week to study Spanish at the Queretaro Language School, a quick 10 minute walk from Quinta Zoe. We each had our own room with private bath and internet connection, plus free outgoing calls to the states. The rooms were large and well-equipped and our hosts were available for directions, shopping tips, exchange rates, etc. It is located one block from the center and there are plenty of nearby restaurants and convenience stores to meet all budgets and tastes. We walked to every sight museum, church we wanted to see in 5-10 minutes. Definitely the place to stay and we are going back.

Our first night out of Mexico D.F. was a great experience, thanks to David and Zoe who found the perfect spot in a beautiful town. A warm welcome and friendly treatment, nicely furnished rooms in a cozy atmosphere and within walking distance of all major attractivities of Queretaro. The place to stay in that city.

Our second trip in 11 months to Queretaro was even better than the first, thanks to David and Zoe at Quinta Zoe Colonial Inn. They warmly welcomed a pair of Canadians who needed warmth during November and December and treated us as old friends. Not only was the service excellent, we were welcomed into their daily lives, meeting friends and sharing meals and even being put happily to work! In the beautiful historic centre of Queretaro where Quinta Zoe sits, the skies were blue, the days were warm, and the lead-up to Christmas meant nights of music and dance, parades, lights, and fireworks at the close-by plazas....an excellent time of the year to visit the city and Quinta Zoe is a most excellent place to stay. We hope to return many more times to our favourite place in Mexico and David and Zoe are the ones who have made the place even more special for us.

My husband and I stayed at Quinta Zoe for one week in February 2009. This was our sixth trip into Mexico but our first time in Queretaro. Our accomodations were excellent. Zoe has decorated her home so beautifully and she made us feel so welcome. We appreciated the double security---key to the front gate and key to our room just off the patio. We were less than a block from the historical section and could walk everywhere. Queretaro is beautiful and is the hidden gem of Mexico. We enjoyed the many plazas, fountains, parks, and great restaurants. I loved shopping at the andadores (closed off streets where only pedestrian traffic is allowed). Zoe provided us with a very helpful restaurant guide, allowed us to make free phone calls to our family in the U.S., and provided us with bottled water. Quinta Zoe is the perfect place to stay in Queretaro.

My husband and I stayed at the Quinta Zoe for two nights at the end of November. It is a well located, lovely b & b and Zoe and David are wonderful hosts and they supply plenty of useful information on the highlights of Queretaro. We stayed in the Duomo room towards the back of the property, which is located across from a lovely patio area with nice views. All of the rooms feature fine linens, very comfortable beds and plenty of bottled water is available. Zoe told me that she is concerning discontinuing the breakfast option which is a shame because she is a fine cook but there are plenty of great breakfast spots close by worth a try.

If you visit Queretaro be sure to visit El Palacio located on the Place de Armas. It’s an international restaurant but be sure to try the Indian food – it’s a nice break from Mexican food (some good Mexican food is also on the menu) and they do a fine job – the vindaloo was great!

Quinta Zoe is clean, comfortable, modern and Mexican ,in style and colors. The king beds are comfortable and the sheets are immaculately clean. The B&b is perfectly situated in a central - but quiet - site in the historic district of Querétaro.

But are Zoe and David - the owners - who make the difference. They are excellent hosts. They are accommodating and helpful. They make you feel at home.

Be sure, Quinta Zoe is your home at Queretaro.
