“Enjoy oaxancan food and ambiente”
Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

In case you are not planing to visit Oaxaca and want to enjoy real oaxacan food, here you will have it. Any sort of mole (cacao and chilly based sauce) dishes are available. Additionally I can recommend the goat cheese with chapulines (grasshoppers) and the dessert (marias speciality) with grashoppers as well. Sopes, salats and soups for dinner are great. It is for sure a great alternative while staying in Queretaro. There are 3 Maria restaurants in Qro, we were at the one closed to the plaza de armas square. At night we enjoyed oaxacan marimba music, although a bit loud, very nice.

“Terrible!”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Don't go there! Service is awful, order a drink(mezcalin) that the waiters didn't even know how to make( they were asking each other what was it) eventhoug was on the menu, waited 30mins for it, and decided to leave. As for the great food they claim to have I didn't want to wait. I'll never go back.

“Good Oaxacan food & atmosphere”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

If you can't make it down to Oaxaca, it's definitely worth it to stop at this restaurant. You can get traditional foods like chapulines (grasshoppers) and tlayudas and traditional drinks like mezcal. The atmosphere is also very nice, with wooden tables and wall decorations. The outside seating looked enjoyable, as well, but we were inside. And the prices are actually not too bad!

“Oaxaca in Querétaro”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

María and her son have had a very successful run in Querétaro with their now 4 restaurants featuring primarily food from the state of Oaxaca. Her original and her latest are about a block away from each other. The more recent incarnation includes a large patio in the rear and a large, well-stocked gift shop.
All four restaurants share the same basic menu and exuberant decor; the only difference seems to be size and location. Staff dresses in traditional costumes.
This is a good place to sample Oaxacan cuisine to get an introduction into what makes it special. Food is well-prepared and many of the items (grasshoppers, for example) are not the usual culprits found on menus everywhere else.
The place is fun, colorful, cheerful and the staff is friendly and competent.

“My Queretaro "must-stop"”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

Maria y su Bici is one of my "must-stops" on my monthly visits to Queretaro. Service is not always the fastest but the ambiance and food always makes up for it. If there is a wait, it usually isn't for more than 15 minutes. Maria's mole are some of the best I've had. If you are new to Oaxacan cuisine, try a mole, the tlauda is great to share and the chapulines (tiny grasshoppers sautéed in chilies and lime) are fun to try! In my opinion Maria y su Bici is one of Queretaro's best.
