Description: Hank's is the new name of the famous Harry's Restaurant with 12 years of history in Mexico, since 1999 in San Miguel Allende and since 2004 in Queretaro. Hank's is a bit of Louisiana and its "French Quarter", which offers the traditional Cajun cuisine from New Orleans. The atmosphere at Hank's is incomparable, you can enjoy a delicious dinner or spend a pleasant evening in the bar, drinking a margarita, a martini or a devastating hurricane while listening to jazz music.

“WOW.....Completely unexpected in the middle of Mexico....Louisiana fare as good or better than New Orleans”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

I make it a point to go here on every trip I take to Queretaro for company business. Everything I've had is very good, and the seafood corn chowder is unlike anything I've found elsewhere...absolute must if you enjoy chowders. Service is good, English menus, and some nights live music. If you're really lucky, it will be blues/jazz with Johnny Duvall on guitar, who is also featured at La Encrucijada. Suggested choices include the duck (my favorite), ribs, or jambalaya. Save room for desert...go to my picture and see why!

“Harry's is now Hank's!”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

We had seafood gumbo and jambalaya that were excellent. Located on the Constitution Plaza, nice for people watching and there is a beautiful lighted fountain at night. Close to parking and other walkable activities.

“Louisiana in Mexico”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

It's unusual to see a restaurant with Louisiana specialities in Mexico, so just that makes Harry's worth a visiting. Most important for a restaurant, the food is good and the wine is great. Harry's got a nice terrass overlooking the Plaza Constitución, and it's near the city's centre.

“Reliable and excellent”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Great food, good wine, great menu, professional service, reasonable (but not cheap) prices. Centrally located in the historic district, near shopping and the park.

“American-Mexican flavors.”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

Harry’s New Orleans has enough American flavor to make you want to come back. Sometimes on a long trip south of the boarder I just need a sandwich and this is the perfect place. On a nice day in Queretaro, and most days are nice, the best place to sit is outside overlooking the plaza. Occasionally outside you will encounter one of the local street characters and usually Security will shoo them away for you.

On the Spanish menu a French Dip sandwich is called a “French Dip”. It is served on wonderful fresh bread with beef aranchara rather than the regular sliced roasted beef we see in EE.UU. The sauce also has a Mexican flavor because of the cilantro and hint of jalapeño peppers. The Jambalaya, served with rice, is very tasty but again the picante is more Mexico than Louisiana.

They have an excellent bar and cocktails are the order of the day for the afternoon meal. Mechelada con Clamato is always great on a hot afternoon and as far as I know, every afternoon is hot in Queretaro.
