The lodge has a magnificent view over the landscape (especially the pool). Compared to other lodges the bungalows are made of stone. This might be the reason why we didn‘t feel that comfortable as usual. Big room with nice decoration - but the extra is missing. Very huge portions at dinner, quality ok. There are some hiking trails in the region.

We had a bungalow and there was no door separating the room from the bathroom which is not acceptable!!!
The service during the breakfast was really bad. My friend ordered an omelette without bacon and she got an omelette with bacon half an the omelette and the waiter said: just put it away. Staff wasn’t friendly. At least the owner was nice.
Rather disappointing stay for that much money!

We had an excellent stay at Rostock Ritz Desert lodge. Even though we arrived very early in the morning, we were greatly welcomed by the staff. They made sure we got everything we could need and even upgraded us to a suite for my husbands special birthday. The place is very well decorated and cosy, with plenty of opportunity for relaxing and enjoying yourselves. The room is spacious, very comfortable, with a balcony over a very beautiful view. We took the Panorama Hiking Trail which goes through georgeous landscapes as well. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was exquisite. The breakfast was very good as well. One of our favourites lodges in Namibia, it's definitely a must-experience :)

Camped one night there and we loved it because there are only 4 campsites and it's very quiet! If you like walking, you can grab a booklet with the explanation of the trails and off you go! The view from the terrace was great. We also had dinner there and we enjoyed it very much. The campsites are some 7km from the restaurant area but we were not bothered by it at all. Cant quite understand why campers are not allowed to use the pool but it's their policy so...
Anyway I definitely recommend the Rostock Ritz!

After staying once again at Rostock, we just confirmed to ourselves why we will always go back there . Again and again.
It remains a stunning desert setting , regardless of the time of year . We have experienced it with bare sand plains, with waving white grass, and now in soft green fields, specced with flowers .
Accommodation, esp. the spacious suites, are comfortable, the patios private and the endless desert views to die for.
Food is good . The vegetarian platter remains a favourite of ours. Kücki’s lamb curry is also very good .
Walkingtrails are vèry well marked and cater for all levels of fitness.
Where else will you find a bright blue infinity pool with such views over the endless desert .....
This time we just absorbed the beauty and peace of Rostock and did not go on any drives . But it is highly commendable, esp. for first time visitors.

But to understand why it is such a favourite lodge with us , go and experience it yourselves !! Some things need to be lìved, not read about .
