My husband and I spent one night in this superb lodge. Everything was just perfect. The only regret is that we only spent one night there.

Our room (I think it was the suite) was very spatious, beautifully furnished and had a nice verandah with a wonderful view over the valley.

The location is breathtaking, especially at sunset from the lodge view point where my husband and I (just married and in honeymoon) enjoyed a cool bottle of South African champagne kindly offered to us by Mowani to celebrate our wedding and my birthday. But their effort to make us feel special went far beyond that bottle of wine: they arranged a special dinner for us under the stars and by a fire. We were cuddled and had a great dinner with a 5 stars service that ended with a birthday cake!

The morning after we went looking for the desert elephants (it's one of the activity proposed by the lodge). Since we had to leave before midday to our next destination, they arranged the activity very early in the morning just for us, meeting our needs. And there came the final surprise: a baby elephant, only 24 hours old, that was given our name!

Finally, just a few minutes before leaving a member of the staff realized there was something wrong with our car (actually we were about to lose our silencer!), and they guys from the mechanical workshop inside the lodge offered to repair it for free.

All details that made us understand we were in a really special place with a special care for the costumer. I will certainly recommend it because I think it is really a must if you travel to Namibia (even if a little expensive, but it's value for money).

A special word for both the staff and management were really great and mindful!

Mowani fully deserves the good reviews. The location is amazing and the friendly and attentive staff ensure a luxurious stay. Food was excellent, as were sundowners on the hilltop viewpoint. The excursion to see the desert elephants was well worth the early start, and the camp is also a comfortable base to visit the world heritage site of Twyfelfontein with its extensive and fascinating rock engravings. Our only regret is that we weren't there for an extra night!

We had 2 nights here on our trip around Namibia - it was definitely the best place we stayed. The location in amongst the pink granite boulders is amazing, the food was superb and the service from all the staff fantastic. We especially enjoyed Frederick's desert elephant excursion in the early morning - he was great fun and the elephants a joy to watch in such an incredible setting. The gate man was fun and friendly as well and Mowani was a real highlight of our trip - thank you.

The campsite at Mowani was great. The gate keeper was very friendly and welcoming, a great asset to the Mowani team! The views from the campsite were beautiful and we could climb the mountain behind the camp to watch the sunset. The campsite was clean with good facilities such as the outside braai area and outdoor table and washing up sink. The shower and toilet area was amazing, carved right into the rock again with lovely views! The campsite assistants asked us when we would like hot water and came to light the 'donkey' boiler which worked really well! Would definitely recommend this campsite for its amazing views, friendly staff and great facilities

Amazing architecture, blending right into the rocky landscape, fabulous service, delicious food, unforgettable sundowners!Walk around the base of the hills in the late afternoon to appreciate the scenery and work up an appetite for the sundowner snacks!
