We stayed 3 days at Etendeka MC after a trek in the region; we found the lodge incredible: completely integrated into nature, no noise, nothing spoiled. Great food, great atmosphere, all quiet, nature-oriented.
In the morning we made a walk, guided by an expert, who explained about nature, history, geology; in the afternoons we had a drive, we saw some game, giraffes, zebras, ONE leopard, srpingboks etc... but the endless and varied semi-arid landscapes alone are just worth the drive.
The owner, Denis, is very savvy about biology, ecology, ... so you learn a lot, staying there.

Half to say despite being there when the wind blow hard, we really enjoyed this camp.
Excellent hosting by Dennis and superb guiding from Ivan.
It has a really wilderness feel but at the same time you are very well looked after.
Can't fault it really, highly highly recommended.

Thinking of Etendeka makes me want to crawl back to Namibia! As already mentioned by other reviewers, the Camp is in the Etendeka Tourist Concession which comprises an area of 50 000 ha. in the foothills of the Grootberg (part of Northern-Damaraland). The 10 tents are situated in the midst of flat-topped hills and plains strewn with beautiful weathered boulders.

We were picked up by the owner, Dennis Liebenberg. It takes about 1.5 hours by an open 4x4 vehicle through the rugged terrain to get to the Camp. Immediately at the beginning of our journey into the Etendeka Concession we were 'welcomed' by giraffes, herds of mountain zebra's & oryx. Dennis is a wonderful host who knows this part of Damaraland very well and is truly passionate about the area and the wildlife roaming around.

When we arrived at the Camp we were shown to our comfortable tent and only a few feet away there was another herd of giraffes. The tent has twin beds within the main tent area, then outside there is an en-suite bathroom which is open to the sky, but enclosed at the sides. Because of the remoteness you have the feeling of being lightyears away from civilization- apart from us there was only another couple staying at the Camp.

The next morning and afternoon we went on a safari&walk with the head guide Bonnie. A truly marvellous experience. The area's geology is especially interesting, and travelling on foot was fascinating. Breakfast & dinner are basic but very tasty and being served in the open-sided dining area.

After spending 2 nights here we had to pack&leave already, indeed it felt as if we had been away for 2 weeks. Thank you Dennis, Bonnie and the rest of the Etendeka-team for giving us a priceless memory!

Experience a pure respect and love of nature, a unique experience. We stayed 2 nights and felt like we had been there a week, it was so hard to leave the place. The food is delicious, a pleasure to share it with our hosts talking about nature, Namibians etc. The time stops when you have a walk there and get explanations about plants, animals, geology, ... The beds are very comfortable, very clean. Unbelievable place. Congratulations to our hosts for their amazing work.

Pure love and respect for nature and people, we've learned so many things, discussing at dinner with our hosts, taking our time to have a guided walk in that amazing place. The food was delicious, best bread ever. We stayed 2 nights and we had the impression that is was at least a week, we were so sad to leave.
Congratulations to our hosts for their wonderful project.
