The place might have been ideal for a stay, and some of my friends recommended it ... but something must have changed...
The place is built actually in the middle of the village, a slum on one side, some other rotten houses on the other.. the website pictures are of course focused on the very nice flowers and terrace.
But the worse is .. the smell.
The house is built alongside one gutter carrying along the "S" of the slum around. And when I say, "S", i mean human dejection .. and the smell that goes with it.
So when you taste the good food, sometimes a nice blow of horrid smell just makes you wish to vomit.
And then, when you try to sleep in one of the non-AC rooms (3 of the 4 available).. you face a dreadful dilemma : either you close the windows to avoid the smell and can't sleep because of the heat, either you open and breath the gutter aroma during the night.

Then, when you challenge the 300 GHS price for 2 people (room + breakfast + diner), all extra costs (for lobster, for bacon, for chicken sausage) and constantly missing ingredients (no gambas, no avocado, no plantain..) and refuse to stay more nights as initially planned.. you don't get real understanding of the management....
Well you better check if they have covered the gutter before you go ...

Room Tip: the AC one

Actually, thing must not have changed in a bad way as we always try to improve our place. For sure when the friends came, the invisible waters coming from the village were already there and nobody complains about a "horrid smell". As said on our website we are in the heart of the village and we have local houses around that are simple but for sure not slums! And also for sure (you can ask any of our other guests who left reviews here), there is no human dejection around!

The rates were high season rates as we have many requests during Christmas holiday and included breakfasts and dinners. All year long our rates are from 30$ to 60$.

About the food, it's written on the introduction of the menu that "some ingredients may miss at some season" So it was definitely not the season for prawns ans we had to fight to get lobsters. Also we don't have plantain on our menu and sorry if avocadoes went missing but I think a lot of avocado salads or guacamole had been ordered before.

Last thing, I don't oblige people to stay more nights than planned. These customers had booked 4 nights but staid only two which is quite annoying at that very busy season

Best Restaurant in Busua , hey they even have Tsatsiki which was mind boggling good !!! I did not stay in the hotel but heard good comments from the guests. Excellent food and faster service compared to the other restaurants in Busua . It can still take an hour or so but chill out , enjoy the waves and the lovely house monkey .

As a regular customer, I can say that Busua Inn is my favorite restaurant and hotel in Busua .
the rooms are pretty and do not look like standar motel rooms, you feel yourself at home . The staffs are helpfull and smiles alaways come first . The restaurant is wonderfull, from the grilled fresh fishes to the fufu, each meal I've tried was a delight and a discovery .

Thx to the all crew !

My friend and I chose here for a getaway from the noise of Accra, and we both are pleasant about the stay here. Staffs are friendly, and the room ( we stayed in room 2 ) was pretty equipped and comfortable. As for the restaurant, the food is delicious nd the menu is quite innovative that the dishes merge the French style to local goods. The plus is the monkey that stays here. Today 'she' gave me a rather nice 'scalp message'.

I recommend y'all to also pay a visit to Ezile Bay Village, owned by the same couple. Do try there cassava leaves salad and take a hike through the small jungle to your right (facing the sea). Then transportation fee is about 40 cedi one way

The Busua Inn is an example of good compromise between nature and comfort. A good bed and a good shower in a good room, under a beautiful tree where Miss Monkey is always alert hoping to pinch your camera and then exchange it against a banana, just behind a garden and a cottage where you start by having breakfast, then go on through lunch, a French cuisine dinner and finally drinks under the moonlight, all on the beach where you can walk all day long to reach the neighbouring villages, the fishing ports, the sea ... and a couple of miles of sea away, the island that makes you dream.

Busua Inn is relaxing place to stay but in the centre of Busua activity. The rooms are comfortable and the fusion French and Ghanaian cuisine in the restaurant is excellent. The owners Olivier and Danielle go out of their way to make the visitor feel he/she is among friends. I've been to Busua 3 times, it certainly won't be the last.

We stayed at Busua Inn for over a week and the overall feel of the place is that it's pretty average. I am also surprised that no one so far mentioned that there is only saltwater in the bathroom. Given that the area is a high-risk for malaria, we found it quite surprising that there are no mosquito nets in the room - luckily we brought our own! I agree with the previous review - the place is next to the local sewer and smells pretty much every day getting really bad every other day. The staff, esp. a guy called Steven, was very helpful and super friendly - big thumbs up! Although Olivier, the owner, was also helpful regarding organizing our payment (obviously that was in his interest) we did not really have the impression of him being overly friendly and keen to make a connection to people staying at his place. Food in the restaurant is good to very good, but not sure if it is that amazing to justify charging 25-30% more compared to other places on the beach (e.g. lobster at Busua Inn 30 cedi, lobster at Alaska Beach 19 cedi).
This place could be so much more with a little love put back into it e.g. sorting out the wooden panelling on the terrace, renewing the torn-apart cushions for the beach chairs, having a clean in the reception area and around the curio shop etc.
Also ... the monkey living there bit someone while we were there. I also saw it walking into the kitchen once :-( I believe the place would be better off without it!
