We'd chosen to eat here twice during our 2 week stay in the Gambia at the Ocean Bay which is a short walk away down Kofi Annan street. On our first visit the food was hearty, plentiful and well cooked and the second time was no different. We had garlic bread with cheese which was basically a small margareta pizza with garlic - really nice and we also had a glass of the house red which was lovely.

The main meals are fully flavoured and just like a home cooked itallian meal would be. Service was fast, freindly and efficient and best of all, the olive to top the whole experience is the owner Danilo who is a really nice guy ensuring you have a good time and I'd reccommend him as a source of info on the Gambia from a European perspective. Just ask him about his adopted cat Inter Milan too for a great story.

Prices vary from 300-600 Delasi but our meal, 1 starter, 2 alcoholic drinks, 1 soft drink and 2 main meals came to just 850 Dalasi which was a great price. I also noticed that they do takeout (they provided us with a takeout box for a meal we couldn't finish) and locals dropped by for takeout meals while we were there.

I'd definatley recommend eating there during your stay especially if you want a tasty and filling meal.

We visited the Italian Connection twice during our ten day stay at the Ocean Bay hotel. The food on both occasions was superb, hard to believe you were in Gambia. Danilo was very welcoming and ensured our visits were enjoyable.
The menu was suffiently comprehensive to enable lovers of Italian cuisine plenty of choice - their garlic bread starter was suberb.
It is well worth a visit and is easily reached from hotels in the Cape Point and Kotu areas.
Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes good Italian food - will definitely visit it again on our next trip to the Gambia.

We went to the Italian Connection twice during our week long stay in Cape Point and had two excellent meals. It is owned by an Italian gentleman so serves real Italian food!!!

The restaurant is at the far end of Kofi Annan Street, which unfortunately does not have much lighting. However do not let this put you off. We felt safe as we walked down the street, and it is more than worth it to enjoy such a wonderful meal.

A superb Italian restaurant in Fajara at the outskirts of Cape Point. The host Danilo is true Italian and the food is fantastic.
