“Local dishes and reasonable wine”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Mr Bass is a great location for a first nighter! It is right on the road next to the Crafts Market. Go for the Gambian specials: Domoda, a delicious peanut stew, is the national dish of Gambia. The rich and delicious vegetable and meat stew is served over rice. Or try the benachine or yassa dishes with either chicken or fish...scrumptious and cheap! We had free entertainment and would recommend this restaurant to all!

“Just ok.”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

As the title say's - just ok. There were 1 or 2 better eating places around. (Like the Indian) It says I must leave a review of more than 50 characters, but there really isn't anything else to say. It was alright.

“Busy and popular place”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Very busy and popular, live dancing and good service. That said we only went once as we had steak and it was average at best.

“Great Gambian entertainment”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

A must for travellers in the area. It combines a great atmosphere with good music. A place where individuals go and friends leave. My husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed the nights we spent here. Top tip is to take plenty of small dalasi notes as the group members will come around many times collecting.

“Lively location at Mr Bass.”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

Mr Bass seems to have entertainment of various standards opposite the restaurant on most evenings. The food and toilet facilities are very goog for Gambia.
