“ENCHANTING - The Wildflower Cottage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2011

My husband and I and his brother and wife rented the Wildflower Cottage from Pat and Brenda for a few days, and we loved it!

The cottage had everything you could ask for...when I opened the door to the sun porch, I said "this is wonderful"...and it was! Books and assorted teas, right out of a Country House and Home decorating magazine!

The kitchen table was set as if we were dinner guests..( with real napkins and napkin rings, lovely) .and plenty of wine glasses for all that wine tasting! It is not right on the lake but you can walk to the lake and also sit on the patio furniture under big lovely tree and see the lake and hear the birds and have a bbq.

The personal touches were amazing....very comfy! One of the bedrooms is on the small size, wonderful cottage for couple and maybe 2 kids...but, it worked for the 4 of us...

Thank you Pat and Brenda for a little slice of heaven!
(we hopefully will return)

8 of my girlfriends and I stayed at the Perry Point cabin for a wine tasting weekend. It was a beautiful cabin very spacious and had a gorgeous view of the lake. We got there later in the day on Friday, it would have been easier to find the cabin if the street number was more clearly marked. Also when you drive up to the cabin it looks tiny and leaves a little to be desired, just wait until you climb the stairs in to the living room, the view is breath taking. We al had more than enough room and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We also took advantage of the discount offered by the local Transportation company because of the Savannah House, our transportation was also great and timely.

If just seemed odd not hearing from or dealing with anyone from the hotel when we arrived. I appreciated the fact we could just go straight to the cabin and did not have to go there first it just felt a little odd.

We also stayed with Savannah house last year in another cabin and had a fabulous experience there also. We will be coming again next spring and we are planing to again use the Perry Point Cabin.. I am also trying to talk my husband to in to checking out the area with me in the fall and we will stay at the Savannah house then..

Not only would I recommend this location to other travelers I already have many times over.

The cottage we rented on Seneca Lake from Pat and Brenda at the Savannah House was AMAZING!! The cottage was maybe 50 yds from Seneca Lake shore with a nice deck and hot tub. The cottage was clean and exactly as described! It was the perfect place for our weekend getaway!!!

We went up there to get away from the big city for a while. It was the perfect time of year when the trees were just changing color and the air was crisp. The hotel was very simple to find and in a great location, right on the main route (route 14) on Seneca Lake. After the first day, we were able to find our way around the area without any problems.

The hotel is laid out motel style. Parking was right in front of our room, which made carrying everything in and out easy. Each room had a different color theme and ours was green. Little details in the room made it cozy and added a nice touch. The room was very clean. A mock fireplace made the room even more inviting. The best part about the room was having a good size fridge and a microwave oven. This helped a lot economically. We bought back our leftovers and heated them up the next day for breakfast, which allowed us to sleep in a bit more and save some money. There is also a supermarket in Watkins Glen only 15-20 minutes away by car. We brought back groceries since the fridge was large enough to accommodate them.

Pat and Brenda, the owners of Savannah House are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Their cat, Josie, was the cutest and sweetest. Pat advised us on several of the local favorites for food and site-seeing, including a really cool abandoned gas station which is also a museum of collectibles. There are plenty of vineyards and wineries located right on route 14, within a short distance from the hotel. One of the more known ones, Hermann J Wiemer is within walking distance. If you don’t drink, there are a number of beautiful places to visit with incredible views of waterfalls and the lakes, including Taughannock Falls, a must visit.

On our last day, it was sad to say goodbye to Pat and Brenda, you really get to feel like family there. But we will definitely be back again soon since we didn’t get to see a lot of the things the Finger Lakes offer, even though we were there for 5 days.

We found them through "FingerLakeswinecountry" website, Passport program, a value package to stay, eat and drink, that a number of business participate in. After looking at website and talking by email with owner in the prior months, and the pricing Pat quoted us. We decided to stay with them for the week we were there. Let owner know we would not be up to their place until late night. They waiting up for us. Greeted us warmly, introduced themselves, and the cat too. Showed us to our room, asked about ourselves a little bit, how our trip up was? Could not have been nicer to us. Rooms were nicely appointed, clean, and the linens and bed were great. Had a great nights sleep every night. Looked forward to home-ground coffee and assorted Teas in the morning before getting our day started. Savannah House is situated right in the heart of the wine country and Seneca Lake, and the owner Pat and Brenda know the area well and some of the places to get a good meal, and the good vineyards to stop in at. We will not hesitate to stay there when we go back next summer

After and extensive search for a weekend getaway the perfect place was found. After reviewing the website a phone call was made to see if any rooms were available. It was my lucky day and a room reservation was made. Pat the owner could not have been more friendly and made us feel welcome from the time I spoke to him. After arriving on a Saturday evening we were welcomed by Pat and escorted to our room. The room clean, cozy and charming. The bathroom was found the same. The bedding was so beautiful I didn't want to even sit on the bed. The sheets were soft and the bed was very comfy. Mu husband loved the direct TV. Pat was very helpful with directions and suggestions for sightseeing and dining. The location is excellent on Seneca Lake for wine touring or visiting other small towns near the lake. Be sure to have some coffee...excellent! I have never stayed at a CLEANER motel, hotel, inn. You will not be disappointed. What I liked best about this place is the location, frinedly owner, clean beautiful room, coffee and the comfy bed. There is nothing do dislike about this place. My husband and I will return again when in the finger lakes region.

We stayed at The Savannah House last week for our honeymoon and I have to say it was the best place next to home. The room was very very clean and Pat and Brenda were outstanding. They have really put a lot of thought and care into there place and were so accommodating. They left no stone unturned. I can't wait to go back!
