My boyfriend and I have been looking at homes in Columbia County and wanted to take a few days to get a sense of the area and look at properties. We had the good fortune to find The Inn at Green River on a Columbia County tourist website. We stayed in the Van Deusen room which had beautiful views and a warm, cozy and peaceful feel. The breakfast was divine with locally grown fruits enveloped in a scrumptious crepe like pancake accompanied by homemade scones and fruit bread. Sitting in the lovely sun room over tea and fresh fruit juice our host graciously took the time to answer our numerous questions about the area. She had an outstanding command of the subject matter along with an intelligence, candidness, and warmth that made both of us feel right at home.
