The food was average and nothing outstanding in what we ate. The person who had recommended this restaurant accompanied us, and she agreed it was average. Because the menu changes constantly, the food seems to be spotty.

Food good. Chef great, service very good. Fairly priced. Walking distance from Silvanus Lodge, out "hotel." Recommened by Steele & our hotel. Good choice!

All the right ingredients for a great meal: cleanly styled atmosphere, ernest staff, creative chef and fresh local produce. The appetizers and many main dishes are innovative yet the chef knows how to let a classic burger (and great fries) stand on its own. There's a little wine list that's just right; the Godello was a special surprise! My first visit was solo but I was back the next night with my foodie boyfriend. Hillsdale really deserves an eatery of this caliber.

Hillsdale is rather sleepy, and this place is an awakening. The food is creative, interesting, and delicious, and, largely, healthy. The chicken soup with mustard greens and white beans is great; like your body needed to eat this. The sandwiches are all very good, and sizeable. The olive oil cake is a delicious savory desert. They have a small, but clever wine selection, and the staff is gracious, and very professional. Order at the counter upon arrival, and they will do the serving thereafter.

Have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at Cross Roads, and the chef delivers every time. Locally sourced products paired in interesting combinations. The excellent chicken is rumored to be seared in goose fat, but however it is prepared, it is wonderful. This restaurant is great choice for vegetarians, too.

At breakfast and lunch, one orders at the counter, and the staff then brings your food to the table. There is also a large community table which is a nice option for a small town restaurant when you might well know your neighbors. At dinner, the wait staff serves in the usual manner.
