The Inn at Twaalfskill was by far the best B&B we've been to. The place was beautiful. The home was totally renovated in 2005, and was impecibly done. The decor and ambiance are also beautiful, with the most wonderful antiques in every room of the house. The place is absolutely spotless. And the outdoor garden area is like a little piece of heaven - relaxing and beautifully landscaped. Last, but far from least, Nancy, the innkeeper, was kind, generous and extremely willing to please. Her breakfasts were superb, with lovely baked goods (madelines, scones, breads), fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits as starters, followed by various hot dishes, including eggs benedict, french toast and waffles. Coffee, tea, water, juices and snacks were available at all times, and Nancy even left a bottle of wine for us to celebrate the 4th of July! We can't recommend the Inn highly enough.

My husband and I just returned from one night at the Inn at Twaalfskill, and were positively blown away by our visit. We've stayed at a fair number of B&Bs, and this is without a doubt one of our favorites.
We stayed in Room 1, which was beautiful and perfectly clean - with a small vase of fresh flowers on the table when we arrived. The room amenities were great, and we loved the in-room jacuzzi.
We weren't able to spend too much time in the Inn itself (we were attending a wedding elsewhere most of the time), but even in the short time we were there, we enjoyed walking around the beautiful gardens, taking a peek at the creek, enjoying some snacks from the wet bar (stocked with water, juice, coffee, and some cookies and other treats), and just relaxing in the room.
Nancy - the innkeeper - was amazingly accommodating, allowing us to choose whenever we wanted breakfast the next morning, and allowing us a little extra time to check out since she had no one else checking in that day. And the breakfast itself was fantastic - fruit/granola/yogurt parfaits, a wide variety of fresh pastries, and then a choice of french toast with berries or eggs Benedict - and both were fantastic. We felt right at home here, and Nancy made us feel completely welcome. If ever in the area, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you!

A real gem in the Mid-Hudson Valley area between NYC and Albany. This charming, small & friendly restored 1902 Vidtorian Home is an inviting, relaxing Bed and Breakfast Inn. It's a short drive from N.Y.C. through gorgeous countryside. The location is ideal - close to the Culinary Institute, Hyde Park, mansions of Vanderbilt and Rockerfeller , Storm King Art Center and West Point. The rooms are large, attractive and comfy. The hosts are lovely & welcoming. They will make your stay memorable. And, the home cooked breakfasts are yummy.

My husband and I just returned from our week-end stay at this lovely B&B and it was, by far, the best experience we've ever had, and we've stayed at quite a few of them. The place is just lovely, the rooms are immaculate, the breakfast in the bright and cheerful dining room was simply "to die for" , and it is all thanks to Nancy, the inkeeper. She offered us the warmth and hospitality that can only be expected from friends or relatives.

We am reluctant to post a comment because we want to keep this place to ourselves. But we owe it to Nancy the inn keeper. Almost all of the reviews on tripadvisor are excellent, and we could not agree more. The Inn at Taalfskill is a rare find - it is inviting, warm, comfortable and extremely clean. Then there are the little details that make it such a special place- the fresh flowers, candles lite on the porch, sparkling new bikes to ride ... Nancy has a passion for inn keeping, and it shows!

My mom and I fell in love with this inn! We were there visiting the CIA and we have never been to that part of NY; the owner made us feel very comfortable and welcome! She is absolutely wonderful to have a conversation with, and her dog is just adorable! We will definitely be back! The breakfast was outstanding too, the table was beautifully set when we sat down with a yummy parfait on each of our dishes!! The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated! Everything about the Inn was peaceful and elegant, it was exactly what my Mom and I needed, it definitely exceeded our expectations in the best ways possible!! I strongly recommend this Inn, and ask to meet her dog! :-)
