“Valentines Evening Dinner”
Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Tried this charming place for the first time with my husband for Valentines Day. What a bustling little restaurant, with many people coming in for take out. I had lamb korma which was delicious and enough to bring home for lunch the next day. dinner for two with an appetizer and drinks was $55. Including tip. Quite a bargain. Will definitely go back. Only issue is that parking is difficult, especially with snow on the ground.

“Best Indian Food on Long Island”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Hicksville is a hub for Indian food, and this place is the best of the bunch. Excellent food (can be very spicy, so specify if you want it mild - they listen!) and terrific service. I have had the vegetable sampler for an appetizer (easily feeds 2-3) then had items like Chana Masala, the Mixed Grill and Dum Aloo, all very good. And an order of garlic Naan hits the spot with the main dish.
I don't know her name, but the lady who owns the place is always present, and makes you feel welcome. I know they serve Thai food as well, but I have never tried it. Maybe next time.

“Probably best in Hicksville area”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Chicken Tikka is excellent the Garlic Naan best Ive ever had. Small restaurant thats in the middle of nowhere. Nice Clean and friendly staff. Only seats maybe 30 so lunch is great bet, dinners there's a wait. Its more expensive then most others but the foods much better than others. Probably best on Long Island and probably in Hicksville which has most Indian restaurants outside NYC. If you gotta pick in a town full of Indian restaurants this is the one.

“Delightful North Indian”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

North Indian with quite a flair, best Chicken Tikka Masala out there (creamier than usual) and Naan that will stop you in your tracks. There aren't many tables and even on Tuesday at 8pm it'll be packed so go prepared to wait 30 or 40 minutes for a spot - it's worth it.

“Good food, good service”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

Surprised this restaurant hasn't been rated before. It's been here quite awhile and has a great rating on Zagats. In any case the Indian food is excellent. We've been here several times and are very happy with all of the curries and other Indian Lamb and vegetables dishes. The grilled vegetables appetizers are top notch and the several Biryanis have been great. There are also lots of Asian and Chinese dishes on the menu. It appears that they are often ordered by the Indians who come there who want a change of pace. I cannot vouched for these as we have stayed with the Indian dishes. Spices seem fresh and the degree of hotness can be adjusted - just be clear how you would like the dish prepared. If only the two of us go we usually order 3 or 4 dishes and take lots home for the next couple of days.

Prices are very reasonable and even the beer is more than fairly priced. They also have a lunch buffet - but we haven't attended.
