“Best 90 Minute Historic in Upstate New York!”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Captain Jerry is a man who loves his life's work... Navigating the waters of the Erie Canal or cruising the Atlantic near Ft. Lauderdale.
On this very educational, interesting and authentic 90 minutes you get a history lesson about the beginnings of the Canal, history of the region and full explanation of the internal workings of the lock systems. KID friendly --- they can captain the ship for a few minutes in calm waters. WONDERFUL way to spend a gorgeous day on the water.
Your biggest fan from Tucson Az---- Claudia.

“GREAT cruise on the canal”
Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

We really enjoyed the short trip on the canal and through Lock 18 and back. The staff is cheery and helpful. The captain is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the canal in general. Anyone can take a turn driving the boat and sitting in the captain's chair....children or adults! It lasts about an hour and a half; you can buy beverages, etc. There are tables and chairs set up. You can choose sun or shade. It is well worth the money ($19 adults).

“Well worth the stop”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

The Erie Canal Cruise terminal is located right off the NY Thruway and worth stopping for. The 90 minute narrated cruise was interesting and informative. The boat takes you down the canal into a lock where you experience being lowered to the river. After a short turnaround on the river you re-enter the lock and are raised back to the canal where you cruise back to the dock. Our cruise departed at 3pm and we chose to have dinner at the restaurant which was also very good with views overlooking the canal.

“A fun experience, with a touch of History.”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

If you find yourself in this part of New York State, I highly recommend the Erie Canal Cruise. The 1 1/2 hour guided cruise explains the Canal and its history, and then the boat enters a lock and is lowered 20 feet into a lower portion of the Canal. Very exciting. From children to seniors, everyone was amazed by the trip.

“This puts history into prespective”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

When you drive the NYS Thruway from Albany to Buffalo, you travel at 65 mph. This boat ride takes you back 100 years to when water travel was expected and commercial. The tour is part recorded CD and part captain narrated. We visited right after the major flooding from recent storms. It was great to appreciate what Mother Nature can do to our landscape and what invention can do for mankind. Kids might be bored, as you go through one lock, and the tour is not hi-speed. But 90 minutes of the history of invention was worth it for me. Would definitely recommend it for couples or retirees. Or kids who have some patience. :-)
