“Difference between a B&B and a hotel”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Magnolia Place is a perfect example of why you should consider a B&B instead of a hotel, when you are on vacation and want to relax! The owners Terry & Ted took great care to ensure the "little touches" that truly allow for comfort - and even pampering. The house is immaculate and well-appointed, with many different places to relax and read, drink a glass of wine, chat with your traveling companion. Breakfast will be the highlight of your day, no matter what else you do. The food is sweet and savory, and presented beautifully. We had a person in our group who needed a few special accommodations because of using a cane to walk, and the first floor suite was the perfect fit for her. The B&B is also centrally located to just about anything you could want to do - wineries, lake activities, good eateries, Watkins Glen racetrack. Believe all the good reviews on this place - don't miss it if you are in the area!

This was my first B&B stay and it was wonderful. The setup of the house is fantastic. Lots of open space in the common areas with TV and information about the area as well as couches to read etc. Central fridge where you can keep wine/cheese and they provide bottled water. The owners were very warm and provided an amazing breakfast. Everything was clean and comfortable. Our room had a balcony where we could enjoy our coffee outside in the morning and had an amazing view. We were in close proximity of many great wineries and activities. Would stay again!

We have just returned from two wonderful nights at Magnolia Place. The location is perfect for wine tasting along Seneca Lake, hiking at Watkins Glen, and dining at some of the many outstanding restaurants in the area who feature local products. Terry and Ted have made Magnolia Place comfortable for their guests by not cluttering their guest rooms (there are actually flat spaces for your phone or maps or cosmetics) sharing tips and ideas, providing wonderful breakfasts, and including extra touches like bottles of water for your day, coffee and tea at any time, and homemade treats at bedtime. Such care and attention to detail! In addition, sitting on one of the porches and enjoying the view of the lake is relaxation at its best whether it's in the early morning or as the red sun slips behind the hills. This is a lovely B &B with gracious hosts.

Let me preface this by saying this was my first B&B experience, and it definitely fulfilled my expectations. The B&B was fantastic! The entire house is sparkling and clean. There is a big living room with a TV on the first floor and a huge wraparound porch. The kitchen is cozy and inviting, as is the big sunroom where we had breakfast each morning. Our room was small, but we expected that based on the B&B website's description. However, it had a huge private rooftop deck, which has a distant view of the lake. Our bathroom was outside of our room, but it was also private and very clean. Breakfast in the morning was amazing! So much food and so good! The hosts were also great. They were warm, friendly, and available to answer any questions we had or just to make conversation. They also have an awesome black lab, who my boyfriend and I actually took for a walk up the hill behind the house. I don't have any complaints, but my boyfriend was a little unhappy with the bed, as it was a bit hard. But overall, this was a great experience, and we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rose Room, which is very small but cozy. The bathroom is outside of the room, but i...

The B&B is very beautiful, design in good taste, very clean and comftrable. The owners are very helpful and nice. The breakfast was very big. The only thing was that the internet connection was bad at our room. Overall I recommend staying there.

Just spent 3 nights at the beautiful Magnolia Place B&B. Agree with all the other reviews that this place is a gem. From the immaculate and tasteful decor, the incredible views, the graciousness of innkeepers, Ted and Terri and the imaginative and mouthwatering breakfasts, everything is top notch. First thought it was located on the lakefront due a picture I had seen of chairs facing water, but turns out the pic was the pond at the rear of the property---a little disappointing, but certainly didn't detract from the overall experience.

Room Tip: Stayed in Vineyard Room. That and the Vintners Study Room are located in the rear of house and very...

This place is a gem :) Starting from the warm & friendly welcome from Ted and Irish the dog, our stay was perfection. The whole place is extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast served on the porch was superb; talk about decadence! The views from the porches, balconies & surrounding property are really beautiful. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish and will definitely go back.
Thank you Ted & Terry for such a wonderful experience. Sherry & Kathryn
