“Rude and not worth it”

We called in advance to schedule our party of 11. Mind you the 5 other wineries we visited all had reservations for us. We were told via phone that they do not take reservations yet when we got there we were denied for a reservation of 45? Oh yeah and then they let 8 in behind us- just as a preemptive strike here- we are a group of doctors and professionals ... Glad we didn't waste money there that they could clearly use to upgrade their peeling paint- fail - there are 60 plus better places to visit here - pass!

“For a Spectacular Red Wine and Lakeview, You MUST stop.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

We often go to the Westside of Seneca Lake but rarely do we get to the Eastside. Now we have a great reason to go back more often. My family from England was here for a visit and deemed the view to be the best lake view they had seen on their trip around the lakes. More importantly, our favorite wine on all of the winery tastings was Standing Stone's Saperavi. If you love a dry, full bodied, rich and complex red, this is for you. It was the ONLY wine we all agreed on immediately. A few bottles were purchased for our celebration dinner, to go with Wegmans Filet Mignon. This wine was a wonderful complement to the meal and worth every penny of the price. We also cannot give enough compliments to our server, Sandy. She made the Brit's feel right at home and really knew her wines. What a great experience. We won't wait for company to return to visit again. We already need more wine!

“Marginal at best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

On a recommendation from another vineyard, we stopped here and I was not impressed in any way. The tasting room was cluttered. They had olive bread cut up instead of crackers which I am really not sure is the right pairing with any wine. The women was very nice; however most of the reds were marginal. The Cab Sauv was good. The ice wines were nice. I doubt that we would be back as there was really nothing spectacular here.

“An Interesting and Enjoyable Winery Visit in the NY Finger Lakes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2014

On the recommendation of a friend, my wife and I visited Standing Stone Vineyard in Hector, NY. We opted to do the 8 wine tasting for $5. (which is applied to your purchase of a bottle of wine if you buy one or more). We especially enjoyed the Rieslings offered as well as a Riesling (dessert-style) icewine. The surprise of the tasting was a red wine originally brought from the Republic of Georgia and planted on the east bank of Seneca Lake as an experiment with new varieties of vinifera grapes. The varietal/wine in question is called Saperavi (2012 vintage) and was delicious. It was also the most expensive wine offered, since its production is very limited. A highly recommended tasting visit.

“Wonderful place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2014

My husband and I have been wine hopping all over our wonderful country - From Napa to Apple Hill (CA), From Oregon to Ohio and now in the finger lakes. Truly enjoyed our visit here and absolutely loved their wines! Will definitely be back!
P.S. Pet friendly - our cocker spaniel had a nice visit also!
