Odd staff, inexperienced. Untidy. Chairs stacked in corners, concrete dirty floors, cold atmosphere. Disney-esque cartoons of French neighborhoods floor to ceiling all around the dining room. Black ceiling. No charm. Got the wrong order twice. Asked about a specific dish, got an answer, then the dish came out contradictory to what the server said. Bad food. Thick doughy crepes. Dirty glasses. Just really strange all around. Still puzzled by the whole experience.

Rue de Crepes is good for a casual meal. I would say that this restaurant falls between average and very good. If you are in the neighborhood, and looking for a quick lunch or dinner, it works well. We had a chopped salad with chicken, the chicken crepe with vegetables, and the frites with avocado dipping sauce. For dessert, we shared an apple dessert crepe with ice cream. The food was fresh, the service attentive and fast and the prices reasonable (very reasonable with a Groupon). I was looking for more vegetables in the crepe - especially since farm fresh veggies are in season, but there was plenty of chicken. The salad was a generous, entree size and tasted fresh. The frites were fabulous, as was the avocado sauce for dipping. They serve wine and beer. The decor is interesting - the walls are covered in murals depicting side streets of Paris, but the floor is concrete and makes the room a little cold. There is no natural light in the small dining room and it's a bit dark. Overall, the restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood as it offers something different, but there is definitely room for improvement.

I started going to Rue de Crepes with my mother a few years ago. The wait staff is always pleasant, the owner greets us as soon as we walk in and knows that my mom has her favorite tables. The wild mushroom crepe is my personal favorite - flavorful and filling without being heavy at all. All of the crepes come with a small salad that is always fresh. The banana Nutella crepe is a winner for dessert. For something lighter, the crepe chips (doused with cinammon sugar) are a great dessert option.

When you go to a restaurant that advertises itself as a place that makes crepes, you think the one thing they would be good at is...making crepes!!! Not so lucky for Rue De Crepes!

But the good things first. Service at the restaurant was very friendly. The young man who waited on us was very pleasant, knew the menu and made us feel welcome. He made suggestions for us and was attentive. Prices are not great, but reasonable.

Unfortunately, that's where the niceties end. The attempt to make the restaurantt look like the streets of Paris borders somewhere between cheesy and silly. It almost feels like a high school project gone bad with murals and such that just don't work.

We ordered an appetizer that was fried avocado with a dipping sauce that literally had no flavor at all! The slices were too thick, the breading had no seasoning and the sauce really made no sense.

The crepes were, how shall I say, uninspired and confusing to say the least. The fillings were all over the map from dessert crepes to entree crepes seemingly from all over the world. I noticed that the menu is confusing as it seems they are a crepe/health food/funky restaurant.

Our crepes came and we were amazed at the sight of either buckwheat or blue flour or some other kind of thick, very thick, spongy crepe batter that was used. This was so heavy that I am pretty sure no crepe filling could over power the heaviness of the crepe. We have eaten crepes all over and we have never had a thick crepe in our lives.

My crepe had literally no flavor despite having ham, cheese and an egg!!! How is that possible? My wife had one with sausage and some other items, Barely okay!

Not sure what's going on here, but a crepe place is a fantastic idea but they really need someone who knows...how to make crepes!

we recently visited this restaurant with high hopes, unfortunately they were dashed. we were told we needed a reservation for a 4:30 dinner, so we made one....upon arrival there were only two other people there??? the dining room was very sweet and old french quaint with ice cream parlor tables and chairs....the waitress was very pleasant and tried to be helpful......we started with appetizers which we did enjoy....for our entree we obviously all had crepes and that is where the problem started.....the crepes were thick and rubbery...they almost tasted frozen, then defrosted.....we did have the desert crepes and they too were thick and rubber like.....so, in summary, the food was edible, i did leave full, the waitress was pleasant, the decor pleasing but we felt the price was high for the quality of food served. we would not recommend it. and we feel bad about that because we so wanted to like it.
