“Terrible waits for tables, menu is limiting”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

My husband and I have been to Rumba a few times on our own and a few times with friends. We want to really like this place, so we keep giving it chances!! The ambiance is fun and the rum punch is very refreshing. All in all, to have drinks, the bar can be a really good option in Hampton Bays. However, the waits for tables are always long and, consistently underestimated. Rumba consistently draws big crowds, that reservations should be offered even if they had to be held with a credit card. There have been times we have left because the wait was so long or simply opted not to stay because when they say 1 hour for a table, it is typically 1 hour and a half. My husband is a fan of the ribs, but overall I find the menu limiting and the food just ok. There's simply not enough competition in Hampton Bays to give this place a run for its money!

“Great food!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

The food, drinks, and music is great here! We had to wait for a while to be seated, since it's become a very popular restaurant in Hampton Bays. Everything is very tasty and worth the price.

“Wonderful lunch, drinks, music & view out on the deck!”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We went to Rumba last Wed. afternoon. Being after Labor day, it was quiet and laid back, Regee music played while we had cocktails. The mango mojito was great. I felt like I was back in Key West. I had the Ahi Tuna salad with avacodo and mangos with a light ginger dressing it was excellent. My Husband had the crab cake salad. Loved it. All out on the deck overlooking Shnnecock inlet. It was a lovely lazy afternoon. Def. going back and we also want to go to Cowfish, right up the road in the marina, same owner, so I can't wait! They were not open for lunch during the week.
