One hour to get seated, another hour to get the food, a whole 2 hours to put up with the rude incompetent waitress AKA server 8. The portions are giant and consisted of nothing more than mediocre food. The famous lobster roll was just ok, I've had better. This one was a giant portion of finely chopped lobster, peppered with lobster shells and smothered with mayo, served with yummy sweet potato fries. The bbq ribs were beyond dehydrated, dry and chewy. We wanted to leave as soon as we were done eating but had to wait another 20 minutes for server 8 to bring us the $210 check. Over all neither of us would ever come back, and we will share our experience with our friends, maybe save them from the same experience.

Best food, best ambience.
Down home cooking.
Beats the south of France.
Paper plates, plastic utensils, great owners who work the place.

The Canal Cafe isn't the place you go to if you want a fancy night out. You have to park in the marina and walk on the beach stone driveway to reach the building. But if you want good food at a good price, this is the place to go. I had a grilled tuna sandwich on ciabatta bread with tomato, avacado and a chipotle mayo. Hubby had a fried shrimp hero on the same type of bread. Fresh, crispy bread (and if you're from out this way you know how hard that is to find!), fresh seafood, casual dining overlooking the marina. You may even get to see the boats lining up to pass through the Shinnecock Canal if the locks are closed. Will definitely be back!

We ordered the Salmon salad with lemon poppy dressing and Key Lime pie-or was it lemon meringue.

The view is great the prices are average for the hamptons, the quality of the food sorted fell by the wayside

Might be a good place for beers but that's about it.

Hidden gem in Hampton Bays. Difficult to find and always has a crowd. I never miss it. The food is excellent, service superb, and they are dog friendly on the deck!! Not to miss!!
