If you want to dig your feet in the sand and listen to some good live music in a relaxed atmosphere, this is your place. The food is ordered at a counter and delivered to your table about an hour later, usually cold. The drinks are overpriced, but strong. If you're not paying attention to the food or service and focused on the atmosphere, you are in a perfect spot! Can't beat sitting on the beach with a drink in your hand listening to live music.

I´m so happy brainbytes will not coming back to the beach hut! the food is surprisingly good, and not the sharp stick in the eye commonly experienced in east end dining, fair prices!!! it is a fun rolicking place with mostly happy people except when brainbytes was there of course, just lotsa folks having a real good time, like i said yáll come down.

Ok, to start it off, the con... weekends are way crowded so I stay away.
The Pro's: everything else!
Great safe, calm and clean water. Lots of things for the kids to do including catching little hermit crabs and other little animals. Fishing on the jettie. Floating around, swimming and paying in the playground (if you find the need).
The hut (for food) is fine and we use it rather than bring tons of our own food.
Friday nights they have a classic car thing which is a lot of fun.
In short the closest thing I have seen to a Caribbean beach in the tri-state area.

This place is a bit noisy and crowded and the seating is chaotic, but the music and classic cars on cruise night make up for it. The food is adequate, but just what most people want at the beach.

I sometimes wonder about people!

"brainbytes" pans this quaint little shack on the beach at the Shinnicock canal, writing: ":Fast and unhealthful. Menu is very limited. Unsophisticated options here."

I don't know what computer dungeon or fantasy world he is from, but "WHAT DO YOU EXPECT " from a hut on the beach! Chef Ramsey? The others commenting were more to earth.

This is NOT a Politically Correct, Sophisticated, Over-priced, Shi-Shi, stand. It is a grill in a shack on the beach with a nice area of tables and live music. If you want the French Riviera, this is not it. If you want a great family beach, good fresh fried old fashioned hamburgers, fries, fish n chips, etc... then this is the place to go! Its fun. Beach Party!!!!
