“Sit back and relax; what's not to enjoy?”
Reviewed August 26, 2011

Indian Cove is a chalet-style restaurant that overlooks Shinnecock Canal. Indian Cove is a marina as well as a restaurant, so the water sparkles and the inlet is alive with all kinds of boats. Guests opt for al fresco patio dining upstairs or indoor, glassed-in dining downstairs. We each chose the $26 three-course prix fixe menu, and paid an extra $2 each for 1-1/4 lb steamed lobster dinners with vegetables and bolied red potatoes. I had the house salad which was huge, so we split it. The blue cheese dressing was delectable. My partner had the New England clam chowder which was also delicious. The accompanying crusty rolls were also tasty. The first two wines we selected were not available, but the one we finally settled on was very good. Unfortunately we didn't leave room for dessert which was included, but had we, I'd have tried the bread pudding with blueberry and apple vanilla ice cream, although the tiramisu with caramel sauce sounded awfully tempting. The only downside to our evening was an unseasoned wait staff. We assumed the summer help had returned to college and a new crew was being broken in.

“Always enjoyed”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

So sorry for the others who seem to have not enjoyed the wonderful food, service and atmosphere we've had consistently over the years. We love this place and make a point to visit from our home mid-island to the Hamptons at least three times per year. The water view, food (extremely reasonably priced) and the staff have always been wonderful to us. Definitely worth a try to others.

“Nice Place”
Reviewed July 13, 2010

We had a wonderful dinner and evening. We decided to sit outside, watching the clouds make their way over. It rained so hard, the staff was quick to move all the outside patrons in, scattering for tables because the inside was full. We were moved into the bar, which is located upstairs, the atmosphere was great. The music was a little loud but the laughing faces made it fun. The food had no trouble finding us amoung the mess of people. The mako and tuna were out of this world and the service was great. We will head back again real soon. Glad I used tripadvisor!

“Worst dining experience in a long time”
Reviewed July 4, 2010

We arrived at 8pm for our reservation. The place was about half full. Not until 8:30 after repeated attempts to get our waiter's attention did they come over and take our order. It was shocking how slow they were given that the place was only half full. We all ordered the 1.25 lbs lobster. All three lobsters came out and it looked like it had been fire roasted for an hour. The shell was extremely brittle ad the meat inside was dry, tough and without taste. This place claims to be a good lobster place but it actually sucks. It took them 20 min to get our check. This place is overpriced and the food is terrible. I will never go back.

“unacceptable service and food”
Reviewed June 29, 2010

I was there with 11 women for a special occasion celebrating my daughter's upcoming wedding...it was to be a warm wonderful evening of good conversation and great food ...the latter never happned. The service was so unacceptable that we demanded that the 20% gratuity added to the bill be taken off. The wait staff just substituted a sirloin steak for filet mignon because they "ran out of filet", but we are pretty sure they just screwed up the order, the mako was so dry it could not be eaten, and those that ordered risotto with their entree got mashed potatoes instead since they ran out of risotto yet another one of us had a full risotto entree. I could go on and on, but please take my word on this, the managment of this establishment cares nothing about their guests satisfaction. No one made any attempt to rectify one bad service error aftter another. We are locals and will never step foot in this place again!
