Owner description: Heron Hill Winery, rated as one of the most spectacular tasting rooms in the world by Travel + Leisure, is nestled into a hillside overlooking scenic Keuka Lake in New York's Finger Lakes region. For over 40 years, our family-owned winery has won many awards for its distinctive, elegant wines and continues to be at the forefront of cool climate winemaking. Establishing our heritage among some of the first vinifera wineries in the Finger Lakes, John and Josephine Ingle founded Heron Hill Winery in 1977. Through perseverance and long-term dedication to excellence in winemaking, Heron Hill Winery has become a world-class destination for wine as well as a wedding event venue. For the Ingles, practicing sustainability is a way of life. Respect for the land in how we farm our estate vineyards, and respect for the consumer by offering wines with an authentic sense of place and by providing visitors with a friendly and informative experience.

The view here is amazing. Heron Hill has different flights for it's tastings. We usually gravitate to the Ingle Vineyard label and are never disappointed.

We're so happy to hear how much you enjoy our winery! Yes - we're lucky to be located in such a remarkable place and we're very proud of the wines that have come from our Ingle Vineyard site over the years.

My wife and I visit the Heron Hill Winery every year. We enjoy the wine tasting and particularly enjoy the view of the lake which is argueably the best in the Keuka Lake area. We particularly enjoy their "Game Bird" series of wines. Their red wines are what we enjoy the most. Their staff is very knowledgeable which is helpful in choosing which wines to purchase. There is a large tent attached to the winery which is used for weddings and wedding receptions. Although we have not attended a wedding there, my wife and I can see why this would be an excellent location for weddings. This is another "don't miss" winery in the Keuka Lake area. We can't wait to return.

Thank Ed V

Although I do not like the wines, Heron Hill has a beautiful tasting area, a tent for live music and a café for food and drink. It also has a nice gift shop. If you want great scenery and a lovely atmosphere, this is the winery for you.

Thank you for visiting Heron Hill Winery and taking the time to review. With a wide portfolio of wines, typically we have a wine for every taste. I hope you're able to discover a Heron Hill wine to enjoy in the future.

the facilities are gorgeous. they are rated as one of the top tasting rooms in the world, and when you see it, you can see why. our server wasn't the most knowledgeable, in that he just asked "what can I get for you." Didn't describe the wine, what it can be paired with, or sugar contents. However, I will say that each tasting was around 1/4 of the glass, so for the 4-5 bucks for tastings went a ways if you liked the wine and drank all of it.

My favorites were the eclipse wines. One is a blended white grape and the other is blended reds. they also have a great semi-dry Riesling that is smooth. found that one much better than the semi-sweet version, but that is my bias as i prefer a dryer wine to begin with.

didn't eat at the restaurant, but the atmosphere was superb.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere and discovered some new wines. We strive for guests to learn something new with each visit. I'm sorry the tasting staff person wasn't more informative. Thank you for sharing your experience.

This Winery is another one that you should stop at for lunch because its one of the few that serves food. The view and the tasting room are magnificent, the wines we tasted were only so-so. Our server was very informative about the wines and fishing (my husbands obsession of the trip as the fishing is excellent). We didn't get a chance to eat here because we visited a little early in the season and they hadn't opened the cafe yet.
