We arrived just as a bus tour was leaving thankfully! We had to wait about 5-10 minutes and gladly did so to escape the crowd that was leaving. Our wine pourer was friendly and knowledgeable. No fees for tasting and they encourage you to try wines not listed. Our favorites were the Pinot, the Lemberger (both dry reds) and the Gewurztraminer Reserve which was a surprising white delight! Our only warning - the prices are the highest we encountered (Our bottles were $24.95) but the wine certainly is the best we tried in the Finger Lakes.

We like Dr Frank's and make it a regular stop whenever we do the Finger Lakes. Go during the week for lighter crowds.

We've been to Keuka Lake New York several times and use to love Dr. Franks wines, but i guess a couple years ago (06) their chief winemaker Morten Hallgren had left to open his own winery across the lake. We had to WAIT in an extensive line and the quality was not up to par of what we've had in the past, but still excellent for Euporean vinifera wines. Very friendly! (George is so funny) Still we buy the Cuvee d'Amour (very close to a Barolo) and also enjoy the Rkatsiteli for a light spicey white & their Sparklers. But for the Reserve Chardonnay, Meritage, CabFranc, and a better Gerwurztraminer we traveled over to Morten's RAVINES WINE CELLARS finding them helpful, informative (Dave has so much history and background) and with NO lines to wait in. We still LOVE both and these are the TWO wineries for the MUST VISIT & BUY. The funny thing is that they are working hand-in-hand as we asked 'where to stop next' and they recommended each other!

Due to the popularity of this place, we did have to wait about 15-20 minutes for our personalized wine tasting. The wine was very good and they introduced us to some tastes we had never experienced before, which made the trip to this winery worthwhile in itself... well, that and the beautiful overlook of Keuka Lake. You can see everything from their vineyard!

We visited the Finger Lakes during July to tour their wine region. During our 3 days of wine tasting/touring on Keuka, Seneca and Cayuga lakes - Dr. Frank's was by far our favorite winery (both for the wine itself and the experience). We arrived around 11:00 on a beautiful day and they gave us a choice of tasting inside or outside. We chose outside...which was beautiful. Our tasting was leisurely and we had a lot of opportunity to ask questions. Overall, we thought their wine was the best we had in the entire region. We especially enjoyed the whites (though they did a good job with everything). Funny...this was the only winery we went to that didn't charge to taste....and it was by far the best. We bought a number of bottles to bring home and are considering their wine club. Dr. Frank's is a must for anyone who is serious about good wine!
