This vineyard is set just above Keuka Lake and has stunning views of both the lake and it's own vines. Our server was a wonderful gentleman who wan able to answer all questions that were posed to him. One of the few wineries ( may be the only) that still has free tastings. Very good wine and an unhurried atmosphere. I'm sure we will be back when we are in the Finger Lakes again.

Hammondsport, and the entire Keuka Lake area are just beautiful - visually stunning. We just visited yesterday, October 5, 2013. The trees are turning, the early fall weather is perfect and the wines are top notch. Harvest time is one of the best times to visit, but honestly, there is no bad time.

This was our 1st visit to the wine trail at Keuka Lake and Dr Frank's came highly recommended and rightfully so. Stunning views of the vineyard and lake. And our tasting was very informative. Our guide asked us questions on our tastes and what we wanted to try and then made recommendations from there. She also gave a great history of the winery and also on each wine we tried and what made each one different, the growing and fermentation process, etc. Also, their tastings are free, how they all should be if they want to sell their product. They also used their own thick crackers and provided a bowl of them for you to use as needed. We would definitely go back. Others we would recommend are Ravines (outstanding), Keuka Lake winery (right next to Dr Frank's) and Dr Hermann Weimer's. We would avoid Heron Hill at all costs

What a friendly fun atmosphere, The wine tasting was delicious, fun and educational. Everyone we encountered was welcoming, helpful and anxious to please. Definitely will return here next time we are in the area.

If you go to Manhattan you have to see Times Square when in the Finger Lakes you have to visit this winery. That's just the way it is. There are smaller, cozier even friendlier wineries and you should also visit those. But this place is the quintessential winery in the region. Cheers!
