After our recent trip to Canada, my husband and I wanted to ease back into our urban lives. After we left Niagara Falls, we traveled 45 minutes down to Hamburg, NY. Sharon's is located on Rte. 5 right on Lake Erie. Hamburg has the atmosphere of a slightly more urban feel (10 min. from Buffalo) but with a wonderful view of Lake Erie right in the backyard. We stayed on the first floor, which has a private bathroom outside the bedroom. The first floor room comes with a private back entrance, a glass slide door (you view Lake Erie from the foot of your bed!), and a small deck with a table and chairs. Sharon and Vince are very gracious; Vince even gave us a jar of his famous chili sauce and seeds from his flowers! After a good breakfast, the couple allowed us to spend a little more time there past check-out, since we had arrived late the night before.
You should be aware, however, that there is no air conditioning, although we really did not need it, even though it was one of the hottest days of the year. When outdoors, you can also hear some steady traffic sounds, but this was not disruptive during the nighttime. The jacuzzi and bubbles were a nice treat! The couple told us that they even provide dinners for regulars (Vince used to own an Italian restaurant!).
