“A Beautiful Inn with Wonderful Hosts”
Reviewed November 4, 2009

My husband and I and one of our sons stayed at the inn while visiting another son at Cornell. We had stayed there once before, at the beginning of the school year, and looked forward to our return. We weren't disappointed. It's hard to say which is more appealing - the beautiful building and guestrooms, or the wonderful hosts. The building is quite elegant and each room is decorated in its own unique style. Doug and Peter are fabulous hosts who make you feel right at home, and were very flexible in dealing with our schedule. We arrived after 11 pm on a Friday, and when we had to leave early the next morning for an event at Cornell, they sent us off with pastries, yogurt and coffee. The next morning we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a leisurely - and delicious - breakfast at the inn. We can't wait to go back!

From the moment we set foot inside the Benn Conger, innkeeppers Peter and Doug made us feel more like we were staying with good friends instead of a hotel They are two very welcoming people as well as superb chefs! We attended a bridal shower and all the food was delicious - the setup lovely! The rooms are comfortable with a cozy feel - a working fireplace, jacuzzi tubs.
Would definitely recommend a stay.

The owners Peter and Doug were very gracious. We attended a Bridal Shower with delicious food and great service. The cream of vegetable soup was exceptional and I enjoyed the seafood wrap. I stayed in the fireplace room with a very comfortable queen bed and beautiful antique furniture.

We got the Celedon (green) room which has a super comfortable Queen bed (my girlfriend described it as "heavenly") and a roomy jacuzzi. It also had a few books, a fireplace, and good heat.

Innkeepers Doug and Peter were super friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was delicious- with fruit, blueberry muffins, blueberry cereal etc. and nice views to the outdoors in their restaurant area.

Overall we could not be more pleased for a relaxing, romantic weekend. Last but not least their prices are fair which is more than I can say for many if not most B&Bs in nice areas. Highly recommended!

three siblings and their spouses get together every year to enjoy each others company, catch up on family and see new and different places. This year we chose the Finger Lakes and the Benn Conger as our "home away from home". We chose it on the internet based on the pictures, descriptions, location and value. We were not disappointed. The cub appeal was great, the interior was attractive and beautifully decorated for the autumm and Thanksgiving, the rooms and dining rooms were spacious and well appointed. The immediate thing that caught our attention after the obvious ones mentioned, was the hospitality shown by the owners, Peter and Doug. This hospitality continued during our full stay and made our visit even more enjoyable.

The morning breakfasts were more than the advertised continental breakfasts and varied from day to day. They certainly got our days started right. We had only on dinner there as the dining room was closed on Monday and Tuesday. There was a good selection on the menu. The quality of our selections ranged from good to very good - we would certainly go there for dinner.

We totally enjoyed our stay and would stay there again and again.

Greeted by Doug, one of the friendliest men we had ever met at our car when we pulled in after a long road trip in the pouring rain, we were smitten.

The inn itself is stunning; a stately 1920's colonial home, beautifully renovated and decorated with intricate detail and tasteful decor. We were in the blue room and could not get over how gorgeous the decor and comfortable the bed were.

The restaurant was lovely and the service impeccable. We sat in the solarium portion while the rain pelted down and were left to enjoy our wine long after the other patrons had left. We opted for a night in and thoroughly enjoyed the large comfortable seating area with plush couches and an oversized pillow-laden window seat. Wireless internet was also an large convenience.

The owners Doug and Peter are hands on, extremely warm and very hospitable. I have been telling everyone I know who ventures towards the finger lakes, that it is worth the small drive off of the beaten track to experience this gem of a find!

My wife and I began looking for a wedding venue in late 2008 that would be euqal distances from all of our family. We discivered the Benn Conger Inn and went for a visit. Owners Peter and Doug were wonderful from the get-go. They were knowledgeable, friendly and simply wonderful. The Inn, which is actualy two (2) buildings, is historic and beautiful, and no details have been overlooked. They are well decorated and quite comfortable. As the months passed and our wedding grew closer, Peter and Doug did all they could to make certain our wedding day would be as close to perfect as possible, all whilst taking as much stress as they could from Danielle and I.
Family and Friends reserved rooms for the night before, and the night of, the wedding. Everyone enjoyed their rooms, and were impressed by the Inn grounds and the hospitality of the owners, Peter and Doug.
The day of our wedding I was a Pepto-chugging, nervous wreck. As it was an afternoon wedding, I had plenty of time to be a ball of nerves. Throughout the day, Peter and Doug assured me everything was going to be fine, assured me I needn't worry about the details and that they would make certain everything went okay.
After the ceremony at the gazebo on the Inn grounds, our wedding party, family and friends all went inside the Inn for cocktails before dinner and entertainment whilst Danielle and I had photos taken. It took over 1 hour that it took to get photos done. We we went inside the Inn and met our guests, it was like we weren't even missing. Doug, Peter and their staff had everything moving smoothly. All of our guests commented at how beautfiul the Inn was, how professional (to say the least!) the staff was and at how hospitable Peter and Doug were.
Then there were the meals. As a chef I was very nervous that the meals came-out perfectly. As we ordered Beef Wellington, Chicken with Brie and Crab Ravioli, I was nervous. But I needn't be. Our guests commented on how delicious the meals were. Doug and Peter even prepared for my father, a diabetic, a griled salmon dish. It, too, was delicious.
To sum it all up: Peter and Doug run a beautiful inn. Their staff is impeccable. No setails are overlooked. Thanks to Peter and Doug and their staff, Danielle and I had as perfect a wedding as one can expect. We wouldn't hesitate to suggest the Benn Conger Inn for a one night stay, a weekend stay, or a wedding.
We will be forever indebted to Peter and Doug for their kindness, generosity and hospitality, and for making the most memorable day in my life that much more memorable.
We plan on spending each anniversary at the Inn.
We love you Peter & Doug!
Danielle and Peter!

We hope you got the wine we sent you.
