We had a great time! This bed and breakfast was so beautiful and cozy! Our hosts Holly and Burt were just great! We had Gabe's room and found it perfect. The breakfast was scrumptious. The authentic decorum, fireplace, porch, sherry, and good company made this stay a memory making experience.

Holly and I will always remember these wonderful folks! We all enjoyed such a great time with the entire group from this weekend. Such fun and laughter around the dining table! A special anniversary for the two of you at our home topped it all off for us. It is why we "built" it. Thanks for helping us make it all a reality.

We only had the one night at the Inn but it was great. It made for a great stop on the drive to Montreal. We had a late arrival after driving and stopping for dinner at a lovely restaurant that Holly recommended near by. While everyone had gone to bed, there was a note directing us to our rooms where we settled into what seemed like a big feather bed.

Unexpectedly I had to run back to NYC the next morning while my wife and Daughter waited for me at the Inn and from what they said had a great breakfast and time relaxing on the front porch.

Inn is smaller than some B&B's I have stayed in and has the usual issues of not great water pressure or showers, but this is like staying in someone's home and not a Holiday Inn Express along the highway. All part of the charm.

Was lovely and if travels take me there again will be sure to return.

We had a wonderful two night stay in the cottage and enjoyed a wonderful gourmet breakfast in the Inn. The cottage, Inn and grounds are lovely, well maintained with a wonderful attention to detail of period art and decor. Very comfortable beds you just sink into. We are planning on coming back soon. I haven't stayed at a better B&B.

Room Tip: The two bedroom cottage sleeps 7 and includes a full kitchen, dining room and parlor. The covered p...

We just spent a weekend at the VanWinkle Inn and what a wonderful time we had! It was a family girls weekend and so we rented Beth's Cottage, which was the perfect size for the five of us. Holly and Bert were incredibly welcoming and breakfast each morning was DE-LISH! Holly helped to coordinate a winery tour for us of the Hudson Valley and our driver Bob was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the wineries. Holly packed us an adorable picnic lunch for the trip and we had a great time. The cottage could use a few tweaks, which is the only reason I rated the trip very good instead of excellent. Mirrors in each bedroom, a folding door between the bathroom and laundry area, and a more fully stocked kitchen. These things were minute in comparison to the hospitality of Holly and Bert and the wonderful time we had. Wish it had been a bit warmer so we could have used the hot tub and fire pit!

Room Tip: If you're traveling in a group, Beth's Cottage is a great way to have private space. Breakf...

This was just a wonderful group! Tailor made for Beth's cottage. So glad they chose to have breakfast with us. On day one Holly served up her wonderful stuffed french toast. It is stuffed with a combination of brie and sliced pie apples sauteed in butter & cinnamon and served with maple syrup that is harvested right here in our little town. Day two was as special with a vegetable fritatta made with local free range chicken eggs. Not to brag, but it is indeed a delight! So glad you enjoyed the wine tour. Bob also is a favorite of ours.

We take the recommendations made to heart and have already begun working on them. The door is on order and we are shopping for mirrors that will fit the feel of the cottage. We are also doing an inventory of the kitchen to ensure that items that are no longer there are replaced. These were very good recommendations and are appreciated. We look forward to your next visit!!

Just a delightful B&B (stay in the Turner Suite!) close to all things lovely and/or artsy in the Hudson River Valley while less than 40 minutes from Albany Airport -- and you can even get THERE on picturesque back roads! The owners, Bert and Holly Tobin have taken this historic Inn and given it the type of comforts and whimsical charm one wants in a B&B. Breakfast options are to yum-yum for; multiple selections and everything from local producers/organic. Bert,( a Greenville native) has all the best "insider trading" tips for go-see-do - so ASK!

Room Tip: They are all lovely but my favorite is the Turner Suite

We love the VanWinkle Inn. It's like a home away from home. Each room is nicer then the next. Everything about the Inn is spectacular. There are special touches everywhere. It's also pet friendly.
