This should not be permitted. Despite the food, restaurants like this should be able to be in operation if they discriminate against children. They told us that they had another "much more kid" friendly restaurant in Greenport. Unfortunately for them we had been to that restaurant the day before. There they didn't want stroller and did not have booster seat.

So best answer to that will be to choose another restaurant....Vine Wine & Cafe or the restaurant at the Greenporter Hotel are much better options.

“Modern restaurant with nicely prepared fish dishes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2009

Trendy decor and young staff; its a bit more 'Manhattan' than other places in this area but not to its detriment. Staff were accommodating of our baby despite it being late evening and not 'family time'. Good for couples and a nice glass of wine, a very relaxing place to sit and while away an evening. Outdoor seating and lots of candles makes it quite romantic. There is a bar area where some singles sat eating alone also so nice if you are alone and want something tasty.
Food was good: we had crab cake to start which was fantastic except too small, could have eaten about 5 of them! Came with a nice raw slaw which had a chilli bite to it. Yummy. I then had the olive oil poached haddock which was excellent also; great piece of fish - very simple but tasty. Husbands meal also very good. We didn't have dessert as we were full. Wine list was pretty good and varied, some local stuff. Bread was warm and home made I think and they brought us more when we asked for it (we are bread gluttons!).
Very much enjoyed this place and would return. Only thing is that it was pretty pricey for the location and the size of the portions - they were small by american standards. You would probably need 2 or 3 courses for an average appetite and no leftovers! I didn't mind paying the price though as I did enjoy my meal very much and it was well executed with fresh, high quality ingredients.

“Delicious Food, Bring the Pepcid”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2009

I have eaten here countless times since the restaurant opened. Love the eclectic menu and the convenient location. The service can be so-so. The dining room can get very loud. The food always tastes incredible. So what's the problem? I have almost always gotten a stomachache. Before we get home we have to stop at someone's house. I don't know if it is a cleanliness issue, a dishwasher temperature issue, but after too many bad aftermaths, I have written this place off, in spite of the beautiful food. There are other places with equally delicious foods and better prices where I dont come away sick.

“Best Choice in Greenport”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2009

Great food, service and eclectic atmosphere, however, it is defeintely pricey, we wen there with a party of 8 and it cost about $550!! You are better off going on a romantic date with just two people. Also, try the Frisky Oyster Bar right down the street, it is a bit cheaper and has more raw seafood.

“The new Frisky Oyster Bar”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2009

We had dinner at the new offshoot of the FO, the FOB as it is called. Now I am a native New Yorker having been born on Manhattan Island and lived in NYC all my life and used to high prices . But to sum it up, overpriced, overpriced, overpriced.

The Caesar Salad was two hunks of romaine lettuce with some dressing over it and a few croutons. I wouldn't have served it that way to my guests at home. Hardly a work of art. The service was friendly, but folks, if you want a decent meal in the $100 plus category for two, this is not the place. Maybe at half the price, but in the end, the consumers will be the final judge.
