“Excellent But Pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

My wife and I dined at the Blue Canoe during a recent trip to Greenport. The restaurant is located adjacent to the North Ferry with great views of the harbor. We each split an appetizer of a half dozen local oysters ($20) after a very good recommendation of our waiter who had a wealth of knowledge about the local oyster farming. The appetizer was followed up by excellent lobster rolls ($27) for our entrée. The French fries and Quick Pickle sides were also delicious. My only reservation of the whole experience was the cost of the meal. Not so sure that as good as the food was, it was worth the price.

“Uscale, trendy alternative on the Water”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

We've been eyeing this restaurant with its lively music scene on Sundays and finally broke with other Greenport traditions to give it a try. It blew away the competition with great attention to detail on all fronts. Great sushi (fried cod with miso, cilantro, and scallion; fried oysters; etc with interesting touches like a puree of kim chi: Wow!) and a side house salad (chopped with a hint of galangal in the dressing!) but there's something for everyone here and a touch of all the great cuisines. Some might find it pricey but we thought the innovative cuisine and generous portions (including a respectable glass of wine) made it worth every penny. We'll be back for a lazy Sunday

“Not good on all points....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

We were recommended this restaurant when staying in town. It's setting is beautiful, overlooking the bay with good outside and inside space. Ambience was good on a busy evening. Food was good....although some portion sizes small. However the service let it down. Our starters arrived at different times, so some were finished when the next starter arrived. We had to then wait quite a while on main course. We had no complaints however about the standard of the food.....which we enjoyed. It is expensive though, so I'd expect better service for these prices.

“So so food & very expensive”

Our sandwiches were nothing special & way overpriced. Service was good but did not make up for the food. Would not recommend this place.

“Excellent Food & Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

We had never been to the Blue Canoe and thought we'd check it out on a date night. We had a really nice time. The place is family friendly. They had decent prices on seafood dishes. The food was delicious...esp. the pickled cucumbers that come with all of the dishes. I had the lobster roll and really enjoyed it. The water views were beautiful and we had a great time!
