“The Best of Greenport!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2010

Had a reservation for 7pm (obvi the bussiest time and was running late with my party of four. We called and the very friendly hostess assured that no matter how late we were she would have a table waiting for us!! When we arrived a very nice red haired hostess brought us to our table and we were greated by our server and shortly after the manager. From walking in enjoying the lovely bustling atmosphere to leaving, the service, food and overall feel of the restaurant was more then welcoming and very impressive for such a small town. We could use more Restaurants such as yours in Manhattan!!!!! Overall 5 stars, keep up the excellent work!

“Food is good, pricey, and snooty waitress”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2010

So if you like that sort of thing, knock yourselves out. Ended up just staying for appetizers, cause we were made to feel very out of place, under dressed, though it is a beach town, and our waitress had her nose so high in the air, that the seagulls could have nested there. The Assistant Manager, couldn't have been nicer. Shiney smile, and obviously a local boy, now man. He tried to make up, but by then we'd paid our check, and just wanted to find a hotel for the night. We ended up eating a "real dinner" later down the road, at a great diner. Raw oysters were good....very over-priced. Go if your not too hungry, or want romantic expensive evening.

“Wonderful food, in small portions. We wanted MORE of that great stuff!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2010

We ate at Noah's our first night of a five day stay in Greenport. We were very pleased with the atmosphere and with the food-- the quality of everything was simply wonderful, the presentation gorgeous, the service attentive.
But the portions are VERY small for the prices they charge.
We also ate at Scrimshaw and at Vine Wine & Cafe -- restaurants at an equivalent price point, and with a similar approach to food-- and at Noah's, we spent about the same amount for about 1/3 less food per serving .
We were very happy with our meal there in terms of everything BUT the quantity. In a competitive business climate, a model where you pay the same or more and get less is simply not sustainable in the long term.

“We went with an assortment of small...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2010

We went with an assortment of small plates to share, and asked our waiter,Dan, for his recommendation as to whether it would be sufficient for dinner . He was very helpful and informative and appologetic when two of the plates arrived in the wrong order.

I appreciated the risk taking approach to the menu, serving, for example prawns with heads still on, a good spice level with the cerviche, etc. The flavors were spot on, even the little dish of home brined olives, which were bright and salty, down to the baby back ribs, which were homey and fall off the bone.
I happened to speak with the owner who ducked out of the kitchen for a minute to check out the floor, and it was refreshing to speak with someone who obviously knows a great deal about food, but also not afraid to admit that he doesn't know everything.

I would recommend this restaurant and would return if I was in the area again.

“Where's My Duck?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2010

First the positive: The raspberry cosmopolitan was fabulous and the rosemary/gorgonzola fries were tasty. Moving on: Service was inattentive and bumbling. Small dishes are tiny and key elements are sparse. Could find only a shred of duck in the duck BBQ/polenta, and crab tacos (tiny) were mainly coleslaw with a scrap of crab. It was extremely noisy even though not full. Amazing that people rave about this place - that is why we choose it. Noah's is extremely pricey for the itsy bits of food they serve, and the main value of the experience is that now it is a family joke.
