“Pleasant with Good Service”
Reviewed October 21, 2011

After strolling around the town of Greenport for a few hours on a lovely warm day, we came to Noah's Restaurant. Hungry, we quickly scanned the menu outside and saw lots of tasty sounding offerings plus the outdoor seating looked quite inviting. An excellent waiter appeared immediately, showed us to a comfortable table and brought a big carafe of cool water.

In addition to a full menu, Noah's also offers a selection of "tastes" - little tid-bits for the table. We chose the beer and bacon glazed almonds which were the perfect blend of slightly sweet, slightly salty and with a little extra tang.

We then moved on to salads of roasted beets with grapefruit, avocados and cashews. The idea of grapefruit with beets sounded a bit strange but the Culinary Institute of America serves their beet salad with orange segments and that pairing works so we figured this was worth a try. Our original concern, however, proved correct and these flavors don't work together. The cashews were nicely roasted and very flavorful but the rest of the salad was barely dressed or seasoned and we found ourselves adding lots of salt and pepper to try to bring out some flavor. Definitely a miss!

We fared much better with entrees, however. The pulled duck bar-b-que over smoked cheddar polenta, although slightly small for an entree, was completely delicious. And a kobe beef burger with cheese, bacon, assorted pickled vegetables and crispy fries was absolutely perfect.

The disappointing salad notwithstanding, Noah's gets high marks for most of it's food as well as the service and relaxing atmosphere. We'd go back there...although we'd have to have a chat with the chef about those beets.

“Experience was ok”

Noah's was a nice, upscale restaurant. The hostess was nice, but the staff seemed very snobby. The food was good, but I'm not sure if it was worth the price.

“Wonderful find !”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

We had our anniversary dinner at Noah's on 9/23 through reservations made by our host at Arbor View House (my my review at East Marion B & Bs).

We were seated promptly by the hostess. Our waiter, Jason, was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. In fact, we asked, at one point in our meal, if the A/C had been turned off since it got very warm in the dining room. It was back on in a few minutes and the owner's wife came to our table and explained that some one accidentally leaned on the panel and shut it down.

Noah's is known for tapas styled plates but we went for the big plate entrees. Our appetizers, L.I. Clam Chowder with a big hint of garlic and the peach salad, were wonderful. My striped bass and my wife's tuna (cooked just right) with corn succotash were equally fantastic. It's open floor plan is nice, but can get a little noisy when full.

All in all, a wonderful dining experience in Greenport, NY.

“A variety of small plates; a variety of tastes”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

We decided to go the tapas route at Noah's and two of us shared six small plates of varying sizes. The food was slightly uneven - the ceviche was a bit fishy (which made us question the scallops' freshness ), but some plates were extraordinary. The pulled BBQ duck with polenta and a sweet corn risotto were absolutely wonderful. Overall - more hits than misses, and the hits were "home runs." Not a surprise, when you order all over the menu. Fun dinner, and we ended with an after-dinner espresso and, in keeping with the menu variety, a Sambuca (from a choice of white, red and black!)

“Amazing Food, Great atomosphere and wait staff”
Reviewed September 10, 2011

We had an amazing time at Noah's. We loved the selection, and for non-oyster lovers, we fell in love with the bbq clams. amazing!!! everything else was great!. We stayed at Ruby's cove, a short walk from Noah's We also had the fabulous beet salad with grapefruit and cashews, crab tacos, and grilled sardines, on bagette, with tomatoe and basil, Highly recommended, except maybe the sardines, loved the bread with basil but, not so much the sardines... except my hubby loved them!!!! oh well.... :)
