If you want to bring the kids closer to nature this is not the place to camp. The campsites are very close to each other. You could see your neighbors and hear all their conversations. This is not a place to get away from it all; it's the opposite! so beware!

We decided to stay here because it's only an hour drive from our home, and we go out of our way to stay at Jellystone Campgrounds when we travel throughout the states because of their family-friendly atmosphere. We couldn't have been more pleased. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I actually had a great conversation with the cashier who helped me at their campground store, and got some great suggestions for things to do there based on the ages of our daughters. Our pop-up site was large and quiet. We did notice that there was definitely more activity/noise in the large tent sites farther down the street from us, however it didn't affect our stay. Our girls favorite activity was riding on the fire truck and meeting Yogi, just get there early to get in line! The fire truck had to make about 5 or 6 trips to accommodate all the families waiting. Our site was backed by woods and therefore the mosquito activity was pretty high. My recommendation is to get a ThermaCell mosquito lantern. They work really well when camping.

This was our first time at this particular Jellystone park. We arrived on Thursday, drove to our tenting site with water and electric and found there was no shade. We went back to the office and were able to switch to a different one. Thursday night was terrific, very relaxing and quiet. The kids loved the pools, wagon and fire truck rides and all of the other activities. However, by Saturday afternoon I was ready to leave. Friday evening a large group (about 10 tents) came in behind us. One of their screen tents was about 5 feet from ours. They were extremely loud and up drinking until about 3:30am both nights. Tenting is hard enough with 2 small children, let alone having noisy people behind us. There was no security patrolling the campground to enforce the quiet hours. I've been to many campgrounds and the "groups" have always been in a separate section.
As much as we love Yogi Bear parks, we will never return to this one unless we have a camper, for our own separate site.

Had a pleasant stay at Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres. I honestly wish we could have stayed longer! Pool was great! I know it's aimed for the younger ones but I had a fantastic time in the spray pool with my friends who are in their 20's. There is a jacuzzi however it is occupied most of the time. Unless you don't mind being with other people. Most staff are friendly and cordial upon arrival and throughout you trip. We stayed in a rental trailer that was surprisingly spacious and luxurious. Flat screen tv, oven, stove, freezer, fridge, bathroom and shower sleeps 6 comfortably. Oh and also a breakfast nook! My only complaint: FLIES. There were about 10 in the trailer over time and we didn't even have the windows open! But I can deal with it, it's camping. I honestly would return back next time for more days since I only was able to stay two nights. It is enjoyable for couples with or without kids like us.

Please be carefull when renting their cabins - they have big bed bugs problem. I came home with over 100 bed bug bites.... yes over 100 bites!! I found 4 big ones on the blanket we brought home and another 2 on my bag. The cabins are dark and wooden bed frames are perfect place for little suckers! I am so miserable and itchy all over.
I loved, loved the place and my kids love it also and we used to come here every year but unfortunately this will be the last.

I not only stayed at Jellystone @ Birchwood Acres, I chose this venue for my conference, which consists of about 45 families (with children of all ages) from all over the country and Canada. EVERYONE was happy. Yes, that is rare. EVERYONE loved it there. Not only because of the cleanliness of the lodging and the other facilities, but mostly because of the staff, who came to be like one of our "conference family" at the end of our five days. They are caring, competent, and kind. They WANT their patrons to be happy and it shows in the life's energy they invest in our happiness. All you need to do is take a look at their website to see the list of amenities and activities they have at this Jellystone, and you know that it's the place to choose if you're looking to gather at a campground (even if you don't like to camp!!...the deluxe lodges are WONDERFUL!). We are returning this year for our conference again, as we believe we have found the perfect "home" away from home. This is one fantastic Jellystone community.
