“We will go back”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

Just ate there a couple nights ago. I had the liver. It was melt in your mouth. Salads were good. My girlfriend's dinner was good too. The maitre de is a character. Nice guy. Overall good service. For the combination of service, price, etc. we will go back.

“Poor service, fake wine list”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

The 3 different wines on the wine list that we tried to order were unavailable, but not before they tried to deliver a 2007 wine at the price they had on the wine list for a 2001. Really. Then the maitre d offered a to open a Jeroboam of a wine at twice the price of the wine we originally ordered. He was going to open a $300 bottle of wine and serve half?

Our waitress had to excuse herself to get someone else to describe how the dishes were prepared. Really.

A member of our party had been there many times for lunch, with no problems. But on a Saturday night, this was no way to treat guests.

The food was good, but stay away from this place.

“Good, neighborhood italian”
Reviewed December 11, 2011

Good food, nice owners but service is spotty. Good wines. 2nd room a bit strange (atmosphere). Great pastas. Some people find the specials not that appealing, and main menu too limited. But we like the food and enjoy it.

“Upon entering vVespa you feel a warm glow and transported to Italy”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

Vespa has been at this location for twenty years or more and for some reason or other I never thought of trying it even though this location boasts many fine restaurants it is not my choice customarily because of its location. However, friends were coming from out of town and I took a calculated risk and decided to give it a try. I was delighted that I had not judged its book by its cover when we entered this truly authentic Italian restaurant e of reminiscent of those found in Italy and a treat for my friends who had never traveled there, All of the ingredients that make a great restaurant are present in this restaurant ambiance, food and service. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a very attentive maitre d. We were glad we mad eean early reservation as by the time we left the restaurant was very crowded and people were waiting for tables. There are three ssparate dining rooms, the first small and intiimate and the second a beautiful room with faux walls a ,magnificent old ceiling and a wine cellar .The lighting is very subdued but very conducive to enfoying a great meal. The waitress had just come from Italy and her accent added to the authencity of the experience. The menu was in mostly Italian but the maitre d helped both the waitress and our group in translating and prices. The food is very typical of ,many restaurants in Italy where they do not use breading and parmesan cheese. We all ordered the same thing which is very unusual for us but found trhe veal dis we ordered was cooked perfectly and the accopanying vegetables were just as good. At the end of the meal we received a complimentary plate of biscotti a nd a delicious champage apertivo. I would definitlely return to this restaurant.
