This was our first stay at this bed & breakfast. It was formerly a railroad train station in Granville, NY (the colored slate capital of the world!). Having stayed in the past at several other B&B's in this state and in different states, we can say unequivocally that this has been our best experience by far! We stayed in the Freight Office room which is very large with its own large bathroom (claw-foot tub, walk-in shower); a sitting area with fireplace; & a stackable washer/dryer in the bathroom. The B&B is beautifully decorated with antiques. Very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Delicious breakfasts. Hosts, Mickey & Wayne Shaw are wonderful! They welcomed us warmly and made sure we felt that this was our "home away from home!" It is within walking distance or a very short drive to the Slate Valley Museum and several restaurants on Main St. This area is near the Vermont border. From Western NY where we live, it is about half way or so to the Western Mountain region of Maine where we like to vacation. So this is the perfect place to stay! We will definitely stay here again and we would highly recommend this B&B.
