“These spurs need to be hung up for good!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

My family and I ate here recently with other restuarant choices in Staines I will certainly avoid this disappointing restaurant.
The service was poor.the food was disgusting and nobody cared.
We ordered the combo platter it was cold and tasteless the mayonnaise had a crust on it. It had been sat under the hot plate for so long. The burger was overcooked on the outside but was still mince and cold in the middle it was still breathing in parts I was waiting for it to ' moo ' 3 meals appeared and staff had to find our 4th meal I wish they hadn't. The ribs were cold and chewy chips soggy and cold however the coleslaw was nice and warm.yuck !! As for the onion rings they should be named ' soggy onion blob'
We shall not be returning these spurs need to be hung up for good.

whether you have a steak: which is always excellent, or a burger: which is also great, you cannot be disappointed. the onion strings are to die for . helpful staff . often busy. sometimes noisy. love it when it's your birthday and all the staff sing to you. give it a try. don't forget the Don Pedro ice cream cocktail yum!

“Good food”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

This is a good place for lunch, especially if you are a meat eater!
Always appears busy, so better to book a table, even if its for the same day.
Reasonable prices, but noisy.

“Very average”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Visited here during midweek, extremely quiet inside and so many staff standing around idle?
The two of us picked our seats, waitress introduced herself and took the drinks order whilst we looked over the menu. Picked our food and was disappointed to hear that a side was 'no longer on the menu' - Wasn't notified of any changes prior to ordering, so that was disappointing.

Food came relatively quick, as you'd expect for two burgers w/ sides (came medium well without asking ) seemed to be a decent quality beef patty, a shame the onion rings were very soggy (pre cooked and flashed or low fryer temp' I think). Avoid them. Saw a cook strolling around with hands in pockets (?!).

Not a bad experience but won't be rushing back anytime soon.

“Downhill, avoid”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

I reviewed this particular Spur from the chain in Staines 3 years ago giving it a good review for decent quality steak with a fast and efficient service. Since I first went in summer 2009 it has gone downhill. The steak is no longer succuluent nor melts in your mouth but is rubbery, the service has become average and the place just lacks atmosphere.

Shame, it used to be good value for your money now you may as well get steak from a pub. Honestly, I won't be going back.
