They are in the process of updating the rooms, and halls, there a bit of construction on certain floors. The beds were comfortable the room was a good size. The updated bathroom was tiled, the shower was spacious, however, they used a pedestal sink, there is not enough surface space to place toiletry items. The location of the hotel was great, it was within walking distance to pubs, restaurants and stores. Breakfast was good both mornings. The hotel bar/pub was quaint and also had outside seating.

Dear JoWlrNC-

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay at The Queensbury. We appreciate your understanding of the construction taking place at the property as we continue to restore our beautiful historic hotel. We have ordered shelving for the rooms with pedestal sinks; whenever possible we did install custom vanities however due to the size of some bathrooms it was not always feasible. As you stated our location is ideal for not only accessing the regional attractions of Lake George and Saratoga but the city of Glens Falls is also home to many fine restaurants, shops and cultural attractions. Thank you again for joining us and taking the time to post a review. We look forward to serving you again in the near future.

All the best,

This is an elegant old (1930s) hotel with, in my opinion, the best of the old. The rooms are old and small but well constructed and clean. The lobby, newly redone to reveal marble floors, is lovely.

The pool is lovely, with an exquisite atrium, and the hot tub is really hot.

The two restaurants are really two rooms which share a kitchen.

The bar type restaurant, Fenimore's, would be greatly improved if they got rid of all--or at least 2-- of the four &*(*& wide screen tv's that blare at you no matter where the heck you are, in a room only slightly bigger than a modern living room. Four tvs?? Really??

Otherwise everything about the place was enjoyable.

Room Tip: If you ask nicely, you may get a suite at no extra charge.

Dear FT-

Your tagline is exactly our mission. When new local ownership and management took over 16 months ago our goal was to restore this historic property back to its original grandeur while providing modern amenities and timeless design. We thank you for taking the time to highlight our amenities and in the future we do offer a full service bar area in the back of Park 26 that does not have any TV's or outside distractions. We appreciate the opportunity to serve and look forward to welcoming you back to the property in the near future.

All the best,

This the standard bearer of The City of Glens Falls, NY. The hotel has been sold just recently and is under new management that is redoing the entire building at a moderate pace. Pricing is mid to upper range so shopping for a better Motel/Hotel nearby may be needed to help you pocketbook. Go online and see for yourself if the Queensbury Hotel is right for you.

The hotel overall was a little outdate but not a bad place to stay. My issues have to do with staying there for a wedding. We were charged $3 a bag to hand out welcome bags to our guests at check in. The bags contained the shuttle and breakfast information as we had planned and paid for a breakfast the next morning for guests. The bags were delivered after people had already left for the wedding so people missed the shuttle and had no clue about breakfast. We spoke to a representative for the hotel as we were charged for 50 people for breakfast when only about 20 showed up because they did not know about it, we were given no solution.

Dear caglel101-

First and foremost Congratulations! We understand that the renovation project is not fully complete but each day we get closer and closer. I apologize for a miscommunication on the timing of the welcome bag deliveries; it is our policy to deliver the bags in the evening after all guests have arrived to ensure all bags are delivered to correct rooms. Many times guests make requests for room preferences during the check in process and there is a greater chance for a misstep if we deliver them prior to arrival. To my understanding you were not charged for any of the deliveries; If I am mistaken please contact me directly at 518.792.1121.

In regards to the breakfast we prepare food based on our guests guarantee counts 72 hours prior to events and bill accordingly. As you stated all bags where delivered in the evening and unfortunately we cannot ensure all guests read materials delivered to a room. Again it would be my pleasure to discuss this with personally at anytime.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and most importantly Congratulations, I hope to have the opportunity to speak with you personally in the near future.

All the best,

We arrived late for a one night stay on our way to Lake George. The hotel is old and has tons of character. The room we had was huge. 2 nice comfy beds. Bathroom was spotless. Nice indoor pool. Breakfast was great and we were given $5 each towards the breakfast. Huge portions.
Someone was blowing leaves and mowing at 6:45 am, but other than that a very nice hotel
