“Wonderful small museum with unusual exhibits”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Beautiful Florentine house with wonderful art work. Not exhausting to visit, more like Frick in NYC.
Just saw wonderful O'Keefe and Stieglitz exhibits. Their changing exhibits are often unique and special, as this one most definitely is.
Offers art projects for children. My grandchildren have not gone yet, but have it on their list.

“Georgia O'Keefe exhibit”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

If you have the chance visit the museum to see this exhibit. The work is so well documented and the book that accompanies it is a great value also. We joined the museum, spent the day in the other buildings and walked a bit to find restaurants and had lunch. It was a wonderful day and we are planning on attending the lectures that are scheduled too, p

“A Real Museum---not near NYC But Near Lake George,NY”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

A video told the story of Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz plus their love for Lake George. I have seen her works in many college museums------but here they had the best of the best. I saw El Greco in Spain--- but would have never guess a museum in Glen Falls, NY. Many well known artist's works displayed in a beautiful Renaissance style villa. The gardens were lovely.(attract butterflies) They have a gift shop where you can buy very lovely articles of the featured collection. The staff were very pleasant---what a great day.

“A gem of an art museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Great for kids and adults. From early to modern art of all types - sculpture, tapestries, paintings, and more. Summer 2013: Georgia O'Keefe in Lake George where she lived/visited with Steiglitz for years. Lovely paintings that capture the feel of Lake George.

“European Masters in Adirondack Setting”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The personal collection of Charlotte Pruyn Hyde and her husband, Louis, is now a world-class museum that offers a wide range of artwork that includes the likes of El Greco, Rembrandt, Rubens, Homer, Hassam, Cezanne, Degas, DeVinci, Matisse, and Picasso all set in a 1912 Florentine Renaissance style villa, one of three homes that comprise the Museum compound. It's unexpected, but wonderfully exciting to have such an accessible gem of a musem in what is typically seen as a small, upstate New York industrial community - Charlotte's father was a partner in a major paper company whose production facility is almost literally in the Museum's backyard! Museum is closed on Monday. A small admission fee is charged.
Special exhibits are regularly mounted (Georgia O'Keeffe and Lake George and Alfred Steiglitz and Lake George are currently featured) but regardless of when you visit, the Museum is a geat place to experience art. We have gone numerous times and have never been disappointed and the docents are well informed.
