“Perfection on a hill.....”
Reviewed December 2, 2011

Bumi Hills is a wonderful Safari location with every extravagance available. The chef was well trained, presenting gorgeous meals 3 times a day. The Safari experience was delightful with water locations and bush to explore. Infinity pool cooled, as did the AC in the room at night--what luxury in the bush! The view from the deck of our room presented much entertainment---with binoculars and tea, or other libations from the in-room refrigerator, we could have watched indefinitely . The staff is remarkable with everyone giving tremendous service with panache. This is my favorite of 4 places we visited in Zimbabwe.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed equally wonderful.

Fantastic upgrade of the old Bumi with FANTASTIC staff and great (if sometimes too fussy) food. Views from the restaurant, bar area and pool are unrivaled- game is great for beginners as you are guaranteed good elephants and small game. We were also treated to lion which was special. For bird watchers you will be spoilt rotten!! Pity it was only on arrival we were informed the spa was closed for the duration of our stay.

This is our 3rd visit to Bumi and we were still overcome by the magnificent views and unique setting of this beautiful place. From the time we arrived by transfer boat we were treated like royalty and were made to feel really special and welcome. A cool welcoming drink by the pool bar with it's breathtaking views set the scene for the trip.
The rooms are spacious and amazing and have 180degree views of the lake. They are luxurious, clean and very comfortable with every need catered for.
The food is delicious and varied and caters for all pallets.
Activities include game drives by either vehicle or boat plus you can even do a walking game safari. Then there is the fishing activity whereby you go out by boat and try and catch the notorious "Tiger Fish". All the guides are extremely knowledgeable and will give you an experience you will never forget with very close up encounters with elephant, hippo Lion and many other wild animals.
All the staff are warm and friendly and will cater for your every need.
The highlight of this trip was an evening meal set up by the waters edge where we enjoyed a wonderful meal by candlelight.
We can recommend this beautiful place to everyone and one thing is for sure. We will return!!

Room Tip: Try get one of the front rooms as they have the best views,

A perfect wedding venue with the warm African sunset and cool Kariba waters glistening in the background, Good friends and family, an elephant and a variety of birdlife in attendance, this was the recipe for a unique wedding that will be remembered by all. The Bachelor's booze cruise and Bride's pamper party with spa sessions, a special island wedding ceremony followed with a mouth-watering wedding feast and the promise of a honeymoon from heaven were all taken care of with dedication and enthusiasm. Well done Bumi Hills, let's hope this will be the first of many weddings held at this stunning venue!

I fell in love with Bumi Hills the moment I got there. The views are so unique and beautiful throughout all hours of the days. Our close encounters with the wildlife were so special and the guides knew so much about the African animals, plants and birds. The staff were so friendly and helped me with absolutely every single thing I needed. The food was sensational and the rooms were stunning. My only complaint was that I couldn't stay longer. Highly recommended, I will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Premium rooms are outstanding. The view over the lake is so beautiful and wildlife often wonder...

Breathtaking views, great game, expert guides, friendly and professional service, spacious rooms which were immaculately clean and comfortable and delicious food! No wonder we came back for a second visit. We have no hesitation in recommending this lodge to travellers of all kinds, whether first-time or seasoned Africa safari-goers.

Room Tip: If you are interested in the spectacular views and the game then a Premium room is a must.

This place is a hidden gem and so reasonably priced considering how exclusive it is and how personalised the service is. We enjoyed every minute of it. There is great attention to detail. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The sunsets are awesome and I love the fact that there are so many activities to do. Lots of game. We were lucky enough to see lions on the evening game cruise. The massage at the health spa overlooking the lake was so relaxing and its worth going for a couple of treatments. The Boat ride from Kariba to the hotel can get a bit monotonous so I highly recommend flying there.

Room Tip: It is worth spending a little more for the Premium rooms as they have amazing views of the lake
